I get what you are saying totally but it is funny how they won't mind if its ringed up for firewood but suddenly it becomes much more valuable to them it its being milled
  2. Monday and Yesterday milling! Great site-terrible weather!! Sunburn then soaking wet?
  3. I'm interested in this too as after new workshirts/hoodies. Some of my best/longlived tshirts were organic ones from Howies but I think their print shop needs big numbers to do a run now. I'm currently looking at options with shirtworks.co.uk as I've had stuff in the past from them and are local to me
  4. Is it duarable? I might be interested
  5. If you need a number for Delabodge i have one
  6. Digging up an old thread here! How did the planer work out. I’m really keen for 1 but as you say, no cheap!! thanks
  7. Maybe i do need to buy that super slabber!!
  8. Yes. I’d be very interested. 07703192775 [email protected] thanks
  9. Should be ok I guess. Cut a few and see how they drive in, 1 1/2" should be fine. I've always be of the opinion if they are straight then use anything, they really only need to last a few seasons-hazel isn't that durable. I've used birch, dogwood, sawn softwood, peeled willow etc etc . I'm sure years ago folks would have used what they had.
  10. Cool makes sense thanks
  11. Any reason for the reson for 0 degree or just personal preference? Im on 10 on my slabber
  12. How wide can you go. I can get 1.5m on my slabber but I don't think its enough!
  13. They are at my yard near Oxford. Sounds like a plan, go to be worth as go as they are fliipin massive!! Butt has got to be 6' diameter and 10' long- took some shifting. We moved them a couple of years ago, not sure how long it had been down before that
  14. I've got these big ol lumps of Oak to mill, just not sure if I should spend the time on them or just bin them (some of the other rough bits might go that way). I'd like the challenge but they definitely have signs of decay and are a bit soft in places. Original thinking was to try and cut some posts and boards out with the Lucas (might have to do a bit of mill moving) and work around the soft bits. Or maybe try and get some monster slabs either with my slabber or get someone in with double ended chainsaw mill. Any thoughts?
  15. I have one from Logosol on the bench and did use the granberg before that
  16. Yeah i was well chuffed, she is building her portfolio and wants to do as much varied stuff as possible. Had a great day milling and by the time i had dinner the video arrived?
