  5. I’d like some to oxford too (plus western red and larch)
  6. I’ve been asked to cut a stack of cladding to match existing. Whats there is larch but i’ve only got douglas in the yard. Just wondering how much difference there would be once its weathered?

  17. I'm in need of a new helmet (ground/forestry only) and after much deliberation have decided to stick with the good old petzl vertex and peltor x4 muffs. Protos is too dear too have to upgrade muffs to chipper and every other helmet I looked at someone has some negative to say! Has anyone tried the new Petzl visor? 18. Chris I'm in the same boat (avant 528) and am near Oxford. I want to get a winch sorted as well-maybe cheaper to get 2 made? If I get anywhere I'll let you know
  19. Yeah I just sent an email to the folks I got my machine off.
  20. I was thinking the same thing, ideally I'd like some kind of skidding winch or capstan, with a butt plate but not sure if it would work or damage arm as you say? Kinda wish I still had my alpine with 3.5t winch on. I might just stick to the petrol capstan and get a bigger machine in when needed
  21. Good evening. I've recently got an Avant 528 and am keen to put a skidding type winch on it. Im not sure about the Avant one as it doesn't look like it has a butt plate. Has anyone got anything different or should I look at fabricating something? Guess I could look at landrover/husky type or was thinking hydraulic capstan as I'm mainly going to be on small stuff and have done loads with our portawinch Cheers
  22. If Rough Hewn doesn't want it I'd be keen
  23. Great week milling! 2 days felling, extracting and milling nice douglas. Over 100cu ft cut then day and half cutting Wellingtonia, over 900 linear meters of cladding. Loving the new loader too

    Aspen pump

Im interested in this too, i asked the question before but didnt get very far. I hate the idea of plastic cans as they are a pain to recycled but love aspen/husky fuel. Ive decanted a barrel into old cans in the past using a barrel tap but its not ideal. I heard you can buy it in 20l cans or at pump in sweden?
