  1. Dean you big wuss I catch the ones that will fit into a glass. The really fast ones I jump over as they scurry towards me! I was poking one with the arm on my glasses once and it was getting all aggressive and biting them! Now the other half wants loads of conkers. Luckily we've got 4 conker bearing chessies that have given us quite a crop this year!
  2. could the first ones, be of the Mycena genus? Edit: the first ones, from what i can find online, could they be Mycena haematopus? the bleeding fairy helmet? i could be way out mind. this is only a suggestion from my limited knowledge!
  3. do the cuts in 4 stages, work position, visualise the cut, hold the saw up and offer it up to where you want to cut, then cut!
  4. Yes Apbell:
  5. That's not the best place to store a chainsaw dude! Haha
  6. Just to put something shiny in
  7. Ahh I was right on the ganoderma at least. Get a bit confused with australe and adspersum/applanatum. My little canon takes macro shots so I'll get a better shot of the red blighters for you. I'll have myself a little fung hunt! I believe your rubbing off on me a bit Tony!
  8. Couple of finds up at myerscoughs crow wood. I'm suggesting G. adspersum/applanatum and phelinus iginarus (sp?) With a few little shrooms on it too. These were all on beech logs Not sure on the little orange shroom. But it was near an oak and a sycamore.
  9. Hadleigh I'm getting lumps in my double braid. Not yet had a chance to redo a 16 strand. I'll be trying some blaze now though! I think I'm just not tapering enough. I'm taking out enough strands following the Samson instructions. What splice type is armour pruss? I've got a length to play with! Got to let my hands recover first though!
  10. bender: what type of splice did you do on the blaze?
  11. Cheers rich. I've conveniently got two loops inside my container which I've been using as a point with a sling through so I can clip onto it. Worked well. Just need to have another go and find something to yank it with! Will be having another go at 16 strand soon!
  12. I'd like to have a go at blaze. Got it lying here and wouldn't mind a shot at it. I had a go again today. Managed to get a poison ivy splice almost finessed. Struggling to finish the bury as my hands were blistered at that point! Re spliced a double esterlon that I did dodgy last time. Need to learn how to whip them now. Anybody got any tips for the poison ivy? I'm also thinking of having a go at Portland braid. Is that just a double braid splice?
  13. I've got a 60cm ocean poly 10mm prussik I have as a spare. Works well when I did use it. Don't anymore though. I had it on blaze and now on xtc. No problems!
  14. heres my additions, i mean mishaps!
  15. i meant to say left, but i put right instead, silly me! do the wonky spots work? looks like one is there to light up the night sky and the other is for lighting the hedge at the side of the road!
  16. ed does the big blue arrow not block your right headlight?
  17. its got some extra heavy duty ones, the hi cap ones sat down too much so stronger ones were bought, the water tank is full in those pics, and it gets very close to the arches, i think the front does touch ever so slightly when it goes down on its side.
  18. I have this problem too. My hi viz gear, stein jacket, t shirt and stretch airs all have black marks and stains which won't come out. They've been washed but it just doesn't come clean. Just don't do much work. They will be cleaner for longer!
  19. Well he wants to try put his new tyres. Within 30 seconds he was stuck up to the diffs. Even they were sinking a bit! Doesn't help that the water tank in the back was full! And it was very soft soil.
  20. We've had the boom for 10 years. Don't know who it came from back then. I think it came off an even older truck! We had
  21. Black beauty with her new shoes and a big box that would make an ideal chip bay!
  22. That's a downside to having friends work for you. You feel obliged and you don't want to discipline them. If any of my mates tried to rob anything I don't think I'd even consider them a friend anymore tbh
  23. I find it frustrating when I'm asked 'is that your best day rate' my response is yeah that's my day rate. It's the best price for me! I've been undercut by over £400 on one Job. The work was never done!
  24. We've got a birch by the looks of it. Been planted outside!
