  4. I too saw that knot and I think I will be giving it a go. Thought it was interesting.
  5. Is that your ninja outfit? You could hide down dark alleyways at night andbe noticed by everyone!
  6. I probably went past a lot of guys today. I tried on the stein gtx but just after trying them with that hard leather sole my foot was killing for ages! I know the look you mean! I have all those hi vis items! I got some funny looks wearing those my lid my harness and spikes when I crossed the road to the corner shop. I acted like I was wearing normal clothes and I was getting stared at! Suppose it's weird to normal folk!
  7. They look good when matched with a hi viz stein jacket. Plenty of heads get turning. I thought of you when I bought my airstreams haha. I did pass the arbtalk stand a few times as I wanted to enter the raffle but nobody was home!
  8. Congrats! I thought it was the 660 stihl were offering at the apf. But we can all dream!
  9. Don't know whether its any use now. I've been on a few site clearance jobs with lots of felling and a few sectional fells. I have cs30-34 and 38/39 with full climbing kit saws and ppe required. I have hi viz chainsaw pants too
  10. I have cscs card which expires in apr 2013. Had it since 08. Have cs30-34 and 38/39 with emergency first aid too. Aswell as pa1/2/6
  11. If you are after an accurate way of sharpening. Get the oregon bar mounted sharpener. Awkward to figure out at first but you can get perfect sharpening results.
  12. It doesn't have to waste a lot of chain. It's good for badly damaged chains. And if your not all bothered about a really sharp chain
  13. I bought some meindl airstreams. One of those cool extending stein hooks. A topsaw multi tool. Secateurs a box of one shots and some donuts. Was a good day. Spoke to hadleigh on the treeworker stand and spent lots of money!
  14. you say no more than 40 seconds, you are only allowed 30 afaik? Ive got about 50 ringtones of varying genres, its awkward at first but once you do a few its easier to do.
  15. As you wedge the screwdriver in the circlip. Put your hand behind it. Be careful not to slip out and give yourself a new fangled piercing
  16. I'll be doing those 3. In that order
  17. I'll try and get some pics up of our town stock. There's one area with a couple of churches with a great set of veterans. There's a huge roadside oak easily 6ft plus dbh. Would love to climb it one day!
  18. I've kissed them. Not in a wired way. No feelings attached But this takes tree hugger to a whole new level!
  19. I love that defender. Is that a bowler? Would look super cool as an arb truck! I'm looking forward to my Saturday visit now!
  20. Having to do only one cut is better. As there's no pause between cutting incase it's a bit of a nasty wind or if the tree is rotten. Your only stopping when you hit the hinge. Not when you have to go round the other side and finish it off.
  21. I'm there on saturdee. Spending my uni bursary bonus and student loan! Woohoo!
  22. I've got into a habit of doing high gobs. Leaving a stump I then need to cut off. From doing site clearance and being asked to leave 50cm stumps for diggers to get hold of. It's ok for small stuff but when it's a bigger tree it's awkward to slice off because it want to sit down and pinch my saw. Although wedges to help
  23. No pics of the fruiting bodies? It looks like a brittle fracture which is why the break was so clean
  24. Whatever was left on the patio needs clearing up. It doesn't seem to be environmentally friendly!
  25. I got a £500 bursary at the end of august. With my student loan hopefully coming through aswell. I'll have lots of shiny toys this time next week!
