  1. You should have settled the rootplate first! As you can't judge how much tension the roots at the bottom are under. You could have got half way down sending it and it could have sat back up as you were cross cutting it sending your saw skywards! It's roots did look knackered!
  2. Should be on a 130 with a bigger chip box. Wouldn't get much in that. With a towball you could tow a chip trailer. Looks pretty damn snazzy though!
  3. Here's the two krabs compared for skyhuck and anybody else interested
  4. Petzl sequoia. Love it.
  5. You can apply online Darren. There is usually a test centre somewhere in most cities. There's new cards out now. I have the basic card which means I can access the site but that's it plus I can do what I'm qualified to do.
  6. I only wish I'd thought of that! I paid nothing for the first two days!
  7. I too have a dremel attachment. Shattered one of the stones by catching it funny onthe chain. They are a good cheaper alternative but I don't think they are as aggressive as the bench mounted grinder
  8. When I did mine the people in there looked like they struggled to get their name right on a multiple choice. But they passed. I have a mugshot of a photo as they took one there
  9. Arbtalk has made a huge difference to my life too. The other half doesn't mind. She is asleep as I'm writing this message! I've learnt a lot about everything. Techniques. Legislation. Fungi. Shiny gear and also the guys I've met from here have been good guys. Yet to meet most of the other usual guys on here. But that will happen in good time!
  10. I got it from honeys less than 6 months ago. Bought another one and got sent a 3 way. It classes as a snap lock and it's used on a lanyard, or does that not make a difference?
  11. Yeah it's a new version which is a 3 way. They used to do a 2 way which looked te same only it didn't have the first small lock on the front. The two way is just press te back. And you can open the gate. The three way needs a really long little finger to work just as quick for me.
  12. Skyhuck I have one of those and their two way predecessors. They are a bit awkward at first I found as the two ways are really easy. I've stuck with the two way as it's quicker!
  13. your boring steve! i wanted some chain oil but didnt get any. in fact i wanted lots of things i saw but but didnt want to buy them!
  14. At least I don't have bright yellow gear... ...Oh wait Well at least I can look more like big bird than you!
  15. Good one Mick! Not only will you look like a lemon when you stand around. You will look like a lemon no matter what you do!
  16. I too saw that knot and I think I will be giving it a go. Thought it was interesting.
  17. Is that your ninja outfit? You could hide down dark alleyways at night andbe noticed by everyone!
  18. I probably went past a lot of guys today. I tried on the stein gtx but just after trying them with that hard leather sole my foot was killing for ages! I know the look you mean! I have all those hi vis items! I got some funny looks wearing those my lid my harness and spikes when I crossed the road to the corner shop. I acted like I was wearing normal clothes and I was getting stared at! Suppose it's weird to normal folk!
  19. They look good when matched with a hi viz stein jacket. Plenty of heads get turning. I thought of you when I bought my airstreams haha. I did pass the arbtalk stand a few times as I wanted to enter the raffle but nobody was home!
  20. Congrats! I thought it was the 660 stihl were offering at the apf. But we can all dream!
  21. Don't know whether its any use now. I've been on a few site clearance jobs with lots of felling and a few sectional fells. I have cs30-34 and 38/39 with full climbing kit saws and ppe required. I have hi viz chainsaw pants too
  22. I have cscs card which expires in apr 2013. Had it since 08. Have cs30-34 and 38/39 with emergency first aid too. Aswell as pa1/2/6
  23. If you are after an accurate way of sharpening. Get the oregon bar mounted sharpener. Awkward to figure out at first but you can get perfect sharpening results.
  24. It doesn't have to waste a lot of chain. It's good for badly damaged chains. And if your not all bothered about a really sharp chain
  25. I bought some meindl airstreams. One of those cool extending stein hooks. A topsaw multi tool. Secateurs a box of one shots and some donuts. Was a good day. Spoke to hadleigh on the treeworker stand and spent lots of money!
