  1. saw this on the back of a sycamore stem, very small fungi and the camera on my phone couldnt pick them up well enough, the sycamore wasnt too clever. but im assuming thats for other reasons.
  2. he certainly aint clever, if this was close to targets id have it removed yesterday, but looking at the photos it seems a relatively target free zone, let it be natural!
  3. it sure is mark. im afraid my girlfriend isnt on there, so i cant answer that!
  4. i find when its been used it can get a bit stiff, i prefer using a distel or short VT with a little petzl fix-e pully works fine, smoother than a grillion and can be adjusted under load too.
  5. your just jealous! sweet thanks Steve!
  6. just wondering, i may have missed something, do we have to PM the donators? im still waiting on my things.
  7. You could be able to find the stretch airs in class 2. They would be good for climbing and are designed in orange to be compliant with the railways
  8. That is a very steep price for a service. I don't even pay double that for a full car service! I do all my own servicing. All it costs me is time and any parts. Love learning how to do it. Obtained workshop manuals which are drawn exactly how my brain pictures it which is great!
  9. I would offer a pair of brash dragging hands to local companies for as low as possible. Enough to live on plus save a bit for nptcs. Afaik employers can get part funding for training of it's a couple of guys. Don't quote me on that but I did my felling tickets with 2 other guys and we got 60% funding through the learning skills council. Good choice on this career though.
  10. I would copy gareth and his dehumidifier option. I find my pants slide nicely over the chairs in the dining room and the legs get hold open. In an averagely warm room they are dry by the next day I do like putting warm toasty gloves on fresh from the radiator. Even though they are hard!
  11. That's v cool! Would love that! There's a fiat ducato x reg 97000 miles which is a tipper and has a palfinger hiab on it. Was at 2200 when I last looked!
  12. I'll be trying that I think. Don't have a saw like that. I suppose I could make a massive one out of a log and a chainsaw! Don't know how I'd crush it though!
  13. Will do mark :thumpup1: your a stihl customer so it's ok! I think I will end up getting another hitchclimber! Gotta get another crab too so I've got 4 of the same. I just thought id have a play round and see what I could come up with.
  14. The calendar is one of my favourite additions to the lockup. My grandad wants one!
  15. I like the idea of a sling. I didn't really want to clip to my bridge as I have two metal rings there. I climb with two anchor points sometimes so use these both for that. I've got some QuickDraw slings which should fit perfect. Would keep the crab upright too.
  16. The maillon is to work like a second point of attachment next to the hitch. Like the hitchclimber with it's 3 holes. The maillon creates another hole to clip in to. If that makes sense? Didn't think of that to be honest. Thought it would be a bit tidier together like that. But that would work. I've toyed with the idea of using a small petzl paw rigging plate on my harness bridge. Would this be worth trying? I like to know where everything is so I can grab it all. Everythings got it's own hook!
  17. Just been wasting time in my lockup. Came up with this as an alternative to a hitchclimber. The petzl fixe is taking no load here. It is the maillon hooked on the lower crab in between the cheek plates. Would work better with a spliced eye. I do have a HC but I was thinking of this as having a backup system ready to use? Operates exactly the same. Had no problem with the vt grabbing next to the bowline. Comments?
  18. Our two lapdogs. White one, Sam, is a parsons terrier. The other, bud, is unknown! A fox is the current suggestion! Here's an Alsatian we had up until about 5 years ago. He was 8 when we had him put to sleep. He had almost lost the use of his back legs. Shame as he was a great dog!
  19. The laburnum of mine still isn't going anywhere. Offers there for you.
  20. I know a guy who does mainly lime spreading. He has a bobcat with tracks on. He's got a few toys including a stumpgrinder for it. Great on site clearance jobs for moving logs. Awkward to get used to the controls ie bucket is controlled by your feet but it's great fun!
  21. I wore mine to my first course filthy! They got washed once in their first year. And probably have only been washed 4 times since I got them late 2007!
  22. I wouldn't think it's much different to what it is now!
  23. Can I ask how long you've had the quad? We used to have one just like that! They are great quads. We've also got a navara like that and a winch like that would work well!
  24. I use a right pantin for long straight ascents. Leaves with you energy left after the climb. As you use your stronger leg muscles you climb a bit faster. Works fine with a vt or any other hitchclimber system. Works with prussic and blakes too but you have to advance the hitch yourself.
  25. The exploding cat video made me laugh out loud! As did a few others. What about the nutter to sat astride two cars while they drove toward a post, striking him in the wedding vegetables at about 30mph. That made me wince!
