  1. I try and leave stuff on site where I can. My local greenwaste site charges £25/load and if I fill our 12' ifor trailer with mesh sides I could be looking at 1.5-2t if packed in well. Although it's probably rarely much over a ton. I just have to pull up and drop the sides. They empty it for me. They'll take anything recyclable.
  2. I've gone and bought some plastic primer, some petrol resistant clear lacquer and some metallic blue enamel paint. But would it be better using a brighter colour?
  3. inbox cleared, sorry didnt notice
  4. i am currently sorting out some stickers with name address and number on them, there is a sticker from my supplier on there, i will ask them for another one to put on so i will have a distinctive looking piece of kit.
  5. looks like its a trip down to halfrauds later then. Should be simple enough, got some good bits for the dremel that will do a fine job.
  6. bright orange. oh wait... I was thinking red or blue, red would match my boots! Blue would look good. I suppose id have to buy new plastic if its too dirty, plus then i have an extra set if it goes wrong!
  7. I've been having ideas run through my head again. With all this kit getting stolen left right and centre. Whats the feasability of painting saws in different colours to make them different to others. I was thinking of re colouring the orange panels on a couple of saws that I take out a lot. What would be the best way of making the paint stick and for it to stay on? I can imagine it would chip off quite easily. Would making the texture of the plastic rough by rubbing it down with glasspaper or using a dremel be a good way? Thoughts please!
  8. The guy who gets the work is a farming contractor mainly but gets some tree work on the side. He is a good friend of my dad so he gives me tree work when he can. He gets mainly site clearance and it's maybe 3-4 per year. he has a 200hp John Deere and a 12" timberwolf on the pto. Ideal as we don't take anything off site so we turn as much into chip as possible
  9. The damage may not be visible too. Hairline cracks are probably most common!

I was in specsavers the other day. You'll never guess who I bumped into . . . Everyone!
  11. But if the oil is on the outer layers of fabric. It's not coming in to contact with your skin? Depends what oil. An oil cap fell off a 260 on me and poured it's contents down my leg and on my boot. Didn't soak through. Just left me dirty!
  12. I found doing shuttle runs was a great way to increase stamina and general fitness when I was playing football. Set out a few markers 5-10m apart and mark a start line. Run to the first back to start out to second back to start etc. Build it up till your doing maybe 10 markers but have the total length about 30m. Works well.
  13. One of my regular contacts for work has asked me to find a few guys for site clearance works. There is a job within the next few weeks which is a good size and good work for a team of guys. The requirements are that you have your own kit ie saws and a CSCS card at any level. Looking for maybe 3 or 4 guys to work as a team on sites which are mainly around Manchester. Although they can vary in other areas towards liverpool. Contact myself through pm for contact number. He wants to know previous experience, whether you have CsCs cards and also any other tickets. He wants to know how much per day you want too. If you do well I'm sure you will be used for future work. You will also be working with myself on the days I have off from college on the sites. I would be there full time if possible but cannot so a team of dedicated grafters is needed. Thanks and good luck!
  14. I thought it was. I stand corrected! What's the difference?
  15. When work positioning I do clip both into one side. I don't get crushed by my system then. It works but it isn't seen as bad practice. I've hung off one side d briefly before now.
  16. i could have done with one of those on that epic hedge job i did. would have been done in about half an hour!
  17. i suppose the only wrong way you could use it would be clipping both into one side ring, or for using it to suspend your whole weight on the side Ds.but if you have a main line attached then it just becomes a work positioning strop
  18. Blue moon is a blue version of blaze. Why not just buy blaze? It is cool looking though!
  19. we choose a project, to complete the project the tutor recommends i use a case study. but i have a meeting arranged and will attend that and discuss with all relevant information i have thus far its for an FDSC
  20. here you go, may aswell post it here for others MS660 PARTS LIST.pdf
  21. Everything there is helpful, thanks for the input. Here is what the assignment brief states: The written report must: · Explain the importance of the project’s topic to the arboricultural industry · Show how the project was planned and implemented to meet specific aims · Clearly state the project outcomes · Critically evaluate the project for its design and what it has achieved · Be pitched at other professionals in the industry in terms of its quality of presentation and language used The evaluative presentation must: · Summarise the project activities and outcomes concisely · Reflect on your own personal learning from undertaking this project · State how you would approach a new project in the light of your work on this module · Be pitched at other professionals in the industry in terms of its style and content This cannot be a desk study i.e. i cant sit on my computer and find all information, which is where I have to find a case study which i can communicate between a firm willing to help or anybody else willing to help, the case studies shown are good information, but as i have no further contact with the people involved it turns it into a desk study. Getting tricky.
  22. will it ever be available by the meter from suppliers? id love to buy a shorter length of it.
  23. I use machinery where possible. We have a tractor with a loader. Good for jobs with lots of shifting. Makes it ten times quicker if not more!
  24. Acer platanoides dismantle. Very awkward due to being surrounded by new fences in all the wrong places. Did 90% with silky. Only left stubs that I then tidied off with 200t. Felled it at what is seen here. Managed to persuade the foreman to remove a section of fence!
  25. yeah send your address over, ill get them sorted with the other multitude of things i have to do tomorrow!

we paid £500 and we went and picked it up, its ferfect, it would be easier with a standard door but its just a big door instead, came with a lock cover built on so its well secure!
