  1. I have 5 different books. Each one will cover some that others don't. Encyclopaedia of trees is a good one. Rather descriptive.
  2. Not really SE but this all all I know of for failures near me. What's interesting is the kretz was completely internal. No external signs. Bomb waiting to go off!
  3. How many brushes did you chip before you found the right size one Seems like 14hp it is. Bit of elbow grease never does any harm!

  7. hama i worked at a house which had two old sycamore pollards at the front, both were lapsed with about 30ft of growth on top, but the plates on the bark peeling off were as big as the palm of my hand. one of them has kretzmarina unfourtunately!

  14. Anybody want to help me on wednesday? got a tree to take down and just need a groundy. Saw tickets would be ideal. PM me
  15. it should have been red, that tank always has red in it. Ill check when i next see my dad and ask what he had put in there. ill have to bob up some time and do you a swapsie
  16. they are very good solid buildings and well planned out. we have a shed thats bricks instead of concrete up to about 8ft and then the rest of the roof and walls are asbestos panelling, its probably 50 years old and still going strong!
  17. i use OP on everything, always have, i like how it feels and how well it bites. I have a length of armor prus which works well on it, AP seems to work well on all the 16 strand ropes i have.
  18. I'll trade it for a jerry can if you've got one
  19. yes that one! its going playing in the sand instead! that reminds me ed ive got your towing strap still!
  20. whats the crown like ed? i know old sycamores do tend to flake a bit, i seen one a lot older and bigger which was peeling worse than that but was fine
  21. you and your landy getting stuck again ed speed is what you need, speed is what you dont have with a landy hehe
  22. £2300 in the end, we would have liked a little more but it still went for a decent enough price.
  23. we got a firm called Wareing to build a 100ftx50ft shed, concrete panels up to about 6ft then steel panelling up to the roof, it was built for storing vans, they came and built the whole thing including foundations and poured concrete flooring. big roller door and side door next to it. we could get 7 vans in there with 12ft trailers, including room at the side for quad bikes and a storage area at the back for chemicals. its a great shed, id love it for storing all my gear in there, its good to attach a cambium saver to the roof girders and then have comps to see who can get up and touch the roof and down again fastest all in all that was about 50k
  24. I flake mine into a rope bag. I've got a 45m xtc+ if you can find something tall enough to hang it without either end touching the floor the twists will come out. Needs a bit of stretch to sort it. I store mine for longer periods like this, coil it anti clockwise and as it comes off the floor it goes through a pulley in the roof and down to the hooks. Never twists now. those hooks are from b&q £6 each
