felco offer a number of different models, the best one for you will be the ones that best suit your needs. they take into acount different hand types/sizes, lefthand/righthand, what youre cutting and what size, strength of user etc etc. look on their website you will get the idea. also they offer replacable parts for, i think, all models. blades, screws, springs, clips etc etc. though looked after properly you will probably never need replacements.

  6. stuck my ropes in the machine today, put them in a pillow case and tied the top. washed them on a 40 with no soap just water, seemed to come out well and they retained that 'just come out the tree' smell. washing machine seemed to fair ok, didnt shake much. now to try and clean my fluffy lid, should be able to strip most of that.... its a stein. any suggestions for getting blood off boots?
  7. i think its gonna be hard work in the bath so i might take a chance with the machine. cheers for the input fellas.
  8. yeah i think youre right but the quality of steel remains, it would then be down to the person to give it the desired tempur.... i think?

  15. cheers for that guys, wasnt sure so thought it best to ask. my kits been in a lock up all over winter so i expected the damp to of covered it in mould, luckily it was all in a decent kit bag. my lid however looks like its now fleece lined its got so much growing on it! will probably chuck the ropes in the bath as the wife will kill me if i break the machine! a little non bio is good right? first time i've washed my kit, might polish my lockjack while i'm at it!! haha
  16. i've just got my climbing kit back and given it a quick inspection after 6 1/2 months of it sitting unused. as i expected there is a little bit of fluffy mould growing on my rope (expected there to be more to be honest). my question is: would the mould affect the integrity of the rope? and also will the rope be affected by staying wrapped as in the picture for this long? pictures of mould and wrap: thanks for any advice.
