  1. Yeah that's what highscale said but I only see eight millimetre on their site. I'll give them a ring tomorrow and see. Cheers dude. By the way, do you use a pantin whilst on spikes? If so, do you have it in front or behind the upright?
  2. Could someone put a link up to the 6mm Liros please? I've looked all I've and can't find it! No worries nifty, stick a pic up once you've made one 😃
  3. I wouldn't say to anyone who it was or they'll have everyone ringing up, and they may get in trouble if they don't do the same for others. I'm sure you know that anyway but I wouldn't have even put the hint out that some are willing!
  4. Reg's video on matching cuts has a good way of doing it, well worth a look.
  5. Excellent. If you pm me your address Al I'll send you the one in the pic, it's a spare!
  6. hey bud, I've been using my hh on yale blue tongue which is 11.7mm, I've just ordered kernmaster as I wanted a second rope for access and something I can use for srtwp, and ordered it over hedera purely because its orange not green! but the hh works lovely on my blue tongue, it does have a fair bit of stretch in it but I find i'm able to pull most of it out before I head upwards and feels almost like a static rope once you've a bit of weight under you...I had a few climbs on velocity as I was gonna buy it as my first 'thin' rope, which I did like but it killed my hands, 11.7 rope is a nice medium, I should be easier to get to grips (scuse the pun!) with the 11mm kern now, hope this helps:001_smile: Thanks for the info nifty. I think I am tempted with the kern, if I keep on relying on having something I can use Drt then it'll take long to full transverse across to srt. I remember Adam saying to me the only way he became at one with srt after a lot of swapping between the two, was to leave his drt kit at home. I certainly can't afford to buy two ropes so I think the hand killers going to be the one, hopefully it'll push me in the right direction 😀. It'll be interesting to hear how you get on so keep us posted! Regarding the stitched eyes, like Adam I just do the by hand. I use 70lb fish braid so they don't fall apart to quickly.
  7. Now that would be awesome Adam, I'll be in contact 😃👍
  8. It's quite excitingly bad here Jon, the roads are like rivers!! Ger

    Cooking oil.

I've only just noticed this. It may be to late, but better late than never hey so thanks😀 Think I'll break out the hot water and start again! Or, take it back to the shop and get another oiler fitted as the saw is new! I just like it so much I don't want to be without it!!
  10. Yes I've just had a read and it says it's a perfect rope for splicing. Sounds about ideal for the HH, have a splice in the end for drt and it being slightly thicker, and quite static for srt!
  11. Cheers Al👍 I thought that about the way the stopper knots look in the photo, but really the one that came tied is about an inch and half and the one I've done is a tad longer so all's good. The first tending loop I made I did it stitched out of 8mm rope like Adams, that worked well for the Carabiner that came with it but the DMM one I have now is a little narrower so the 8mm was too thick. The one in the pick is made from a little bit of 6mm rope from B&Q (because Go Outdoors was shut) and I've just taped the ends over. It was very easy to make and works well. I've had a look at the other rope like kern, seems to be the same price to me and if you want 45m in 11.7 it's a bit dearer....but I'm sure it'd be ace...apart from being green, harder to see! I've had a little play in the garden this afternoon and I was taking notice of the angles like you've said, it does make a difference with tending slack instead of just trying to rip it through like a mad man 😃

    Cooking oil.

I hadn't run veg oil first, just had a go with it because normal oil wouldn't come through. It's handy knowing about the water though so thanks for that. I may nip in the shop where I got it from and enquire about a new oiler, just don't want to be without the saw for a few weeks just to find it's exactly the same afterwards!

    Cooking oil.

Cheers, I've just read that normal vegetable oil is rapeseed oil, just not as expensive!? I have thought about taking it back but it's a brand new saw, they all seem to have the same problem, so the oiler would only be getting changed for another one that didn't work...probably! I did think about what you've said about starting it with petrol in and it didn't really bother me. Now I've heard you say it it's made me realise it was a bit dodgy, so won't be doing that again!

    Cooking oil.

Hiya What sort of cooking oil is best to use as chain oil? The reason for this, I have an ms150t and it's oiler is useless. I put a bit of petrol in the tank as recommended to flush it out and whilst it was in there I struck it up and the petrol came out fine! Once I'd tipped the petrol out and filled it back up with chain oil it refused to oil again! I thought maybe the oil was to thick so I put some sunflower oil in and it's oiling fine again! I did hear somewhere though that one sort of cooking oil can congeal when it's cold so I was wondering which is best? Thanks Ger
  15. Cheers D Mc. I think Vortex is the rope we can't get over here in the uk isn't it? I did like the kernmaster when I had a go with Adams on the RW but it's not really for Drt too is it? I'll stick with what I have for now until I get better at srting a tree. Really pleased with how it all works at the mo though, just wondered if it could be better. Buying it was relatively pain free and Sam at Ropetek was a pleasure to deal with! I keep reading everything you got to say D Mc, on here and the other forums, keep up the good work 😀 Ger
  16. Cheers Carl. Their site doesn't seem to be working but I'm sure it will later.
  17. I've had my HH for a week or so now, not got to use it much but had a few climbs. First thing I noticed when unpacking it was it doesn't feel heavy like has been mentioned, which was a nice surprise. I'm not that used to srt so it's been great being able to swap from drt to srt without having to change anything. It seems to work well in both methods. It's great not having anything above the hitch and having no sit back is good too. A couple of questions, I'm on a 13mm, little bit fluffy xtc rope, will it make as much difference to how it flows getting a thinner rope as I imagine it will? And, I was going to get some kernmaster but I think if like something I can use drt too, what would be best? Thanks all 😃
  18. Where do you get the 6mm Liros from Al?

    Kit stolen

Sorry to hear that Ricky! There's a spate of it going on around Sheffield at the moment, in the last two or three months I know of five people that have had their saws stolen whilst on jobs!!! It's shocking!!
  20. Had a google and it does look like the second one. Cheers 👍
  21. I just had that. Uninstall the app and then reload. Sorted mine!
  22. ......it may not be tree related?
  23. I've been having oiling trouble. I put a little petrol in the oil tank and it started coming out straight away do I put some oil back in and it stopped. I wonder if a thinner oil is the answer? What is the thinnest oil? Cooking oil?
