    Postage?

Ah I see, and I suppose if they don't send as much out as say FR Jones, then that'll be why it costs three times as much. Makes more sense now. The first part of my post is still mad though, I think that's just an extra charge for not reading what's in front of you!

    Postage?

It does make me wonder if companies just make up their own postage costs! I've just ordered two metres of rope online and when it came to checkout it had some post options.... Super saver £4.99, delivery in three days. Standard £2.50, delivery in two days. That's just stupid isn't it!? Also, it does make me wonder how a company like HB can justify charging so much for postage. When I last ordered something off them and asked why it was so dear they said its because they are a small company! I don't understand how I can send the same thing for half the price they can? Don't take this as moaning, I just can't work it out in my head and wonder if I'm missing something?
  3. That is another advantage of the HH, you only need to buy 1m of hitch line, instead of 3m(to make two) for the hitch climber so there's less waste. Just ordered a metre of both the Liros ropes above. When they come I'll stick a pic up to try and help identify them.
  4. I feel for you bud, I've been just the same but mine was mended yesterday, thankfully! I had a house inspection today from the estate agents and I complained about some damp in the bedroom, then with looking at it further it turns out is very damp, so now I have to sleep on the floor in the spare room! If it's not one thing it's another hey, haha! I do feel like I'm camping though so it's all good 😃 Your parents house seems excellent!
  5. Coolio. This is the page and it has no "remember me" option. Thank you
  6. Yes it's from the app. When I click on a vid it looks like is just about to play and then a google log in page slides in. If I then double click the home button and pick the app again, it'll play the vid no problem?
  7. Cheers Al. I've had a look and seen this, it looks the same apart from the colour http://www.mailspeedmarine.com/rope/liros/dyneema-sg-200075.bhtml I won't get any until I know it right, and then just use it for a rec climb to see what it's like. Must look a bit strange having just 6mm hitch anyway.....not much thicker than cotton ha! It would be interesting to hear your findings from the other day?
  8. When I click on a vid on my iPhone it keeps on sending me to a google log in page. This didn't use to happen, I think it's started since iso7. It doesn't happen from Facebook or the like. Any ideas?
  9. Cheers bud. The needle bearing I'm using is an NTN HK1514L. Ian I'm glad you like it and it'll be interesting to hear your views once you get to use it more. Al, I've had a word with nod and he doesn't have any 6mm Liros. He said I could probably get it from a boat place. I've had a look and they do a few different types. Could you take a pic of yours so I can see which one to get please? I'm tempted with some of the HV (whatever it's called) from honeys', has anyone used that?
  10. Cheers Al, yes I will be, low and slow just to have a dabble. I remember one chap put a bit of metal there as a tending device and that did look like it had a sharp edge that could become troublesome! Hopefully this being a bearing which has been made for speed and heat it'll be ok. That's why it's good to put your ideas out there, someone else might see massive alarm bells and nip it in the bud before it all goes pear shaped 👍
  11. Yeah it's more fun each time I use it :-) Had to stay in this afternoon to wait for the gas man so I didn't book any work in , that gave me a morning free. I popped down to a bearing place to see if they had anything I could use for a little idea I had. I ended up with this ...which I have put here Now, I had no problem with the way the HH tended as standard but thought for £4 I may as well see if it makes a difference! So far, I'm not sure because I've only hung from the pergola in the back garden, but it doesn't seem to change the way it feels descending and it does seem to tend slack more consistently. Anyway, that's about it really, just thought I'd share my thoughts.

  13. Engelbert strauss do a rain jacket made of that stuff and it's a real good fit too. Bargin at about £30, it's got a hood and keeps you 100% dry......especially if you're doing nothing 😀. I'll try and find a link......
  14. I hope you enjoy it.....the HH that is 😀
  15. Nice one Luke 👍. Which tips do you think have helped your progression the most? Any hallelujah moments?
  16. Star jumps, keeps you warm and fit at the same time = win win 😃
  17. I've got no gas at moment too and it is turning a bit chilly! It does warm my heart though when I think how much I'm saving with the recent price hikes!
  18. Yeah the chap I was working for today is a loler inspector and he said that it really couldn't be lolered. I do have aftermarket splices on my ropes and they pass but are not ce marked. One thing he did say was that in the case if an accident the insurance wouldn't be valid if the HH was being used. Not that I think any things going to happen to the HH of course, it's probably the strongest bit of kit I own. Got to have a good play on it the other day Adam, it's blooming marvellous isn't it! So much easier climbing back through natural redirects and jumping around than on the RW I found! Think it's because it feels natural to use being just the same layout as the hitch climber! Well chuffed with it 😀
  19. Quick little question, not sure if it's been discussed elsewhere, what do you chaps do when it comes to loler and the HH?
  20. I went into Charlie Hills stihl shop earlier and they were making loads of chains and getting saws ready for sale. They said that last time we had a bad storm, 2002 ish, folk rushed in a bought all the saws within a few days, and they stock quite a few!
  21. I'm not sure if this is on here or not, and I suppose it mainly shows the advantage of srt, not just the HH, but still worth a little watch...
