  1. I worked at a casino in Bryanston Street at the Marble Arch end of Edgeware Road ('Little Beirut') at the time. I saw the second plane go in just after I had got up from the previous night's shift and when I drove to work that night, the roads were eerily quiet.
  2. Was it a cowboy, Spike, or was it somebody with more 'Captain Hook' type leanings? Do I smell a burning chip pile with subtle top notes of shagged out 360?
  3. I hope not. I bent Dave's ladder as well.
  4. I thought it might have been yours at first. Then I realised there were no MEWP scuffs on it.
  5. It's a fair cop, guv. I borrowed the ladders off you know who and a gypsy stick from Stevie Blair.
  6. What does Mrs Fox do to earn a crust?
  7. I'm getting deja vu. I'm sure you have been told to bugger off before.
  8. Meths is the most effective.
  9. Can't help but wonder if it gave Frederick Forsythe the idea for 'The Eagle has Landed'?
  10. It's not massive, just about 5-6 acres with a very small island and a good stock of carp around the 4-5lb mark. I want to achieve a noticeable increase in dissolved oxygen as well as an attractive feature which should ideally be visible from the house approximately 350m away. Have got the filtration sorted but need to know what sort of flow rate I need. I have seen one with a flow rate of 20,00 litres per hour which looks promising.
  11. Ideally, I would like a central high jet with a rose around it. Current is no problem as we have just run a large armoured cable to the boat house so can put a fused spur from that.
  12. The original Alec Guiness Ealing The Lady Killers or the best ever Vampire film, Nosferatu starring Max Schreck.
  13. Now I have your attention, I have a project planned on the estate lake which I need some advice on. I want to rig up some aeration for the fish and the way I have sold it to the owner is to make it in the form of a fountain for visual effect. What I need to know is what sort of flow rate pump will I need to give me a decent height(2m-ish) jet of water?
  14. Bump! Good to see Geoff yesterday with a load needing a home. Tip site for clean chip still available to any ArbTalkers working in the area.
  15. Would that be the same dealer where he buys replacement bars, chains and 2-stroke oil on a surprisingly regular basis?
  16. You've been warned about having a fiddle before.
  17. Somewhere in your dreams?
  18. That's you right off my Xmas card list, matey.
  19. I found Arbtalk when I was a free-lance groundie and it was invaluable for making new contacts etc. Now I'm an estate manager, it is a great source of information as well as a good way to keep in contact with the industry and friends I have made on here. It's also the perfect way to keep an eye on Geoff; I know if he is still posting then he hasn't come a cropper on his Zimmer frame.
  20. Especially if the neighbour is a farmer.
  21. Do you know for definite that there is a TPO on this tree?
  22. Difficult if not impossible to guess when it will fail. As for responsibility, do your deeds say who is responsible for that boundary?
  23. Another one for Meripilus here. Not looking good for that one, I'm afraid.
  24. Have a look at the Forestry Commission site. Great surroundings and cabins but a bit pricey though.
  25. I got a 357, never been used and still in the box, for £350 a couple of years ago.
