  1. Enlighten me please, oh wise rusty crap guru.
  2. Been clearing out sheds at my girlfriend's parents and found this. Her Dad thinks it's either off of a small tractor(which I can see as possible) or an Allen scythe (which I don't get). Has anybody got any idea of what it is and is it worth anything to anyone?
  3. Hi Duncan. A location might get you more replies:001_smile:
  4. As above, looking for a CS31 assessor with a spare place on an assessment in the near future in Essex or nearby. Thanks.
  5. I did a short stint logging for a firm doing stove sales and installation and was told by the owner that when he did his HETAS course, they were all told that they would pass in the welcome speech.
  6. Same if they are softwood. Everybody knows you can't burn softwood in a stove. Even sub 5% mc softwood will block your flue in less than a minute. Where do people think some of these stoves are made, ffs? Scandinavia???????
  7. Looks like a Buff.
  8. T&Cs again. Standard clause in your quote (not invoice) that payment is due within (x) days of completion or the price is increased by (y)%. Invoice on the day. Reminder letter a couple of days before in case there is a genuine reason, new invoice with increased price a few days after the due by date has passed, giving a time the bill has to be paid by to avoid Court action. Small claims is cheap enough and you add your costs to the bill. To be honest, unless it's a regular I would want paying when the job was done anyway.
  9. To the OP, don't forget to bill them if any of the plant had to be paid for.
  10. Forgot to say that I have a trailer now as well (Indespension 8x4 Beavertail) which I can bring for a few extra shekels if gear needs moving (have a Green Waste carrier's ticket).
  11. Gaps in the diary for the next couple of weeks. Help save me from painting the stairs and landing by booking me in.
  12. You would have to put something in your T&Cs to the effect that cancellation within (X) hours/days of the job would incur a charge of (Y)% of the cost of the job. This would need to be given to the customer at the time of quoting.
  13. You would normally only need a DBS (new name for a CRB) if you come into contact with the kids or work unsupervised.
  14. Eh?
  15. Nobody likes a smart arse, Maria
  16. Oh, Mark, you're so gritty and urban.
  17. Bought myself an old Indespension 8 x 4 beavertail trailer and wondered what my esteemed fellow Arbtalkers could recommend in the way of security other than the usual minefields and GPMGs firing on fixed lines. It has Mini wheels so am I right in thinking that I will struggle to get a wheel clamp that fits? Are hitchlocks even worth bothering with? All sensible comments and Bolam-esque insanity welcomed.
  18. You must be able to trust him as he's a general.
  19. I prefer the buck shot idea, bugger the sport
  20. Who's a lucky fella then?
  21. Still good odds.
  22. Not particularly favourable though, unless the intention is to be as popular as a fart in a lift.
  23. Stick a fiver on that for me as well please.
