  1. I don't think it's difficult to see what the HR plan is here. Assuming redundancy works the same way there as here, you getting fed up and leaving is the result they are looking for as you go for free. You need to work out the way to get the best pay out when you decide to go. I think it's time you went to see an employment law specialist.
  2. Very wise.
  3. It's ok, somebody sorted him out.
  4. Says him in the quote.
  5. Who owns the car, me or him?
  6. Surely this is more appropriate?
  7. Always worth remembering; If you don't do it, somebody else will and the money is better off in your pocket than theirs.
  8. Had the same myself. They got my line manager to have a meeting with me to tell me my position was at risk of redundancy. Only trouble for them was that he didn't have a clue what rules applied to redundancy and so I managed to arrange a nice settlement deal with the directors to avoid a court case. Since then, nearly 400 people have been made redundant at that company. Always pays not to take what you are told by managers and HR at face value.
  9. I certainly wouldn't leave without dealing with the theft accusation first.
  10. Surprising to see a cricket right up in the canopy. I always thought they lived in long grass and such. Really enjoyed it but SWMBO fell asleep half way through.
  11. Don't feed the trolls, Bill. It only encourages them.
  12. Aaaaaah, you poor old sod.
  13. Have a check on the warranty because I think Haix offer 2 years. I had a pair of Protector Pro boots that the sole split on after year or more and they sent me a new pair. All I did was send them a couple of pics and the serial number. The only proof of purchase I could offer was that I got them at the APF but couldn't find the receipt.
  14. Never mind Palm Oil, that's pretty sound advice generally.
  15. It's a weigh up between a good rigging job or seeing a woods or tree I planted several years previously thriving.
  16. I would be surprised if they haven't kept a copy of it. If not, send the pictures that you used and the same description. Don't forget to tell them about selling it to buy your new saw.
  17. Put the ball back in their court, send them a copy of the advert inviting them to comment and asking them to contact Gumtree to retract their objection.
  18. Copy them in and let them do the squeezing for you.
  19. I'd get in touch with Husqvarna and ask why they objected, pointing out that, up until now, you have been a loyal Husky user and are selling this saw to help finance the purchase of a new saw. Send the email to the person/department that got your ad pulled and cc the PR and Complaints department.
  20. So in other words, he will have listened to somebody who commented, regardless of what side of the debate they were, to help him decide. Arbtalk scores again.
  21. Sort of defeats the object of asking the question on a forum though.
  22. If you are the bloke I am thinking of, your big selling point is your experience with machinery fitting.
  23. In a word, no. As long as you actually do work, your work has a value to whoever is employing you.Depending on where you are, about £60 to £80, more with experience. What you could do is offer to work for £50 minimum, or what you ask for if they reckon you are worth it. If you do what you reckon is a good day and they only give you the £50, you know that either you aren't worth what you think or they are a pee taker that you don't want to work for. Either way, at least you haven't worked a day for nothing.
  24. Sicko!
