  1. I liked the saw change. Down - Up!
  2. Arran, is the ISC pulley recommended for direct contact with textiles in the way the Pinto is?
  3. Not sure how big you're talking about. Might they be big enough to fit round the pin of an ISC pulley?
  4. As long as the harness has a section of bare webbing not wider than 45mm. The caritool hooks round the back of the webbing - if you know what I mean.
  5. The instructions that come with it says they are. And besides - if the bridge is connected to them, how can a lanyard connected in the same way make them different?
  6. The rings on the Sequoia too.
  7. I think that's the first time the same person has opened a thread and answered it immediately! Good work!
  8. Thanks for the info, so will it be left bare to colonise naturally?
  9. I was wondering along the same line. What will it end up as?
  10. Marlowbraid has a 16 plait poly cover on a 3 strand core (as already stated). Doublebraid has a 24 plait cover on a 12 strand braided core - hence double braid. Marlowbraid = good Doublebraid = a wee bit gooder
  11. Hi Tom, welcome to the forum. To get a broad range of opinion you might try the search facility at the top of the page.
  12. Good for him, good for you!
  13. I remember back to when you had asked about suitable harnesses. What did you end up getting for him?
  14. Was the client attached to the rope - or a climber?
  15. My dad used to ask "and which one are you, again?"
  16. 550XP just so that the two of you have something to argue about! But seriously, I use a 550xp and it would suit your situation very well.
  17. Bummer, though it's good that you were able to ride in with the cavalry. Good luck.
  18. Are the cards, he's using, fast enough?
  19. Your ideas seem fine to me. I set climbing walls up inside one of our barns. Sank caving bolts into what ever I found, none have come away after 23 years! Remember the holds, on the whole, are experiencing shear forces. Most of the holds can be rotated to change the grip so plan for the wall's evolution as the climbers improve. The top anchors need only be safe and rope-friendly - the simpler the better. Depending upon safety when unattended, the wall might be left with a light line through the top anchors so that climbing rope can be put in place from the ground.
  20. Sextus Postumius Messalla (That's alright - aint it?)
  21. A hard act to follow, Alex. Welcome aboard.
  22. I've always assumed that your property is yours, and whether you use it as a field, garden or football pitch is not important. Remember, all arisings are still the property of the tree owner.
  23. Sorry for the late over-lap.
  24. It's to do with the material that the ropes are made from. Go to the Samson Ropes site and at the top of each set of instructions you'll find the rope types that a particular splice will suit.
