  1. Jasper Carrot had some similar ideas for a mole.
  2. Maybe theres an opening for a childrens entertainer somewhere!
  3. When i was growing them we would cut them to size about 9 inches, pack them in crates with a little compost and then into cold storage. They would get planted out when the privet and laurels were rooted around April/May with the willow being pushed straight into the ground with no root. So in answer to your question probably no need for the greenhouse.
  4. Standon Roxxl on its own will give pre-emergence control and can be applied in wet conditions but not if the ground is too wet. Mix Standon Roxxl with glypho and apply in the dry will still work. Standon Roxxl is the same chemical as Ronstar liquid.
  5. Kerb will only control grass,Standon roxxl would be a better bet as it controls a broader spetrum of weeds.Keep off the foliage tho as you will get die back and it will mix with round-up ect.
  6. It will probably go mouldy if its in a big heap and not stacked. Either stack it on pallets or use vented bags, with the bags i leave a space after every third bag and pallets between each layer. If thrown in a pile you will get mould in the centre.
  7. If you only cover the top and leave the sides open you should have little trouble with condensation.
  8. Sloth that looks like inconsistent watering to me.
  9. Im tea all the way in the main with the odd "proper" coffe which is most enjoyable. Cut it down slow like any drug. As for the lack of dump,do what the mathematician did. Sit down and work it out with a pencil!
  10. Me too, stick with it and it should work itself out as the customers educate themselves as we do indeed live in interesting times.
  11. I started doing a YTS 6 months after leaving school cause the farm work dried up a bit and it seemed to be a case of get them youngun's on a course no matter what. Started an engineering course but it was not what it should have been, I ended up working the injection moulding and extruder machines rather than being in the tool room.. After eight months that was it sun was shining and needed to get outside so got a job on a wholesale nursery and never looked back.
  12. :thumbup1:use Morris all the time never had any problems.
  13. Badgers use them some of the time but rabbits use them all the time in my experience.
  14. Sorry for the continuing derail Billy. Took photo of something similar last week on an oak root in the yard, past its best as was a dark brown/red in colour but now looks white and mildewey.
  15. Not sure if grazon 90 has approval now, there may be alternatives that have less enviromental impact and safer to use.
  16. I shall be down on saturday, roads may be busy as its the weekend of the Goodwoood revival.

    Home Brew

I do homebrew when i have the time and have found the more expensive kits much better, two tins and no need for sugar until you barrel or bottle. Muntons premium kits bought of the internet, ferment for 10 to 14 days with a heat band half way up. Add 3oz of brewing sugar when putting in the barrel and leave for 3 to 4 months. Everything must be steralized within 20 minutes before using and remember to vaseline your rings and seals. Barrels are more expensive but less hassle than bottles.
  18. Thuya, Taxus or Photinia. Hopes Grove Nurseries should have them in the larger sizes.
  19. There is a lot of rust and powdery/downy mildew about this year so that could have some effect maybe.
  20. yes it will be some of the bigger stuff would have been ok for milling if it was shrapnel free.
  21. A sideline of sorts for me, everything that comes from the wood goes back into wood. The money to live on from production hoticulture, planting and felling.
  22. Someone i know lived in france and he said that they sell in metre or half metre lengths and the customer cuts it to the length they want, but generally push the ends of the billets into the fire as they burnin the middle. I billet but dont stack straight away when space gets tight i process into m3 bags i did stack but time is of a premium.
