  1. Not sure yet mike biggest problem is driving especially the forklift. I should be able to feed the kindlet in a few days. Luckily I live in a bungalow because stairs are A nightmare
  2. Could have been much worst felt like it was in slow motion was more worried about hitting the concrete. The steps were really good quality alloy ones unfortunately still heavy when they fall on you. Will be using scaffolding a lot more from now on. I think the weight of the steps counter balanced and helped lower slowly legs went between the rungs and possibly dislocated my knee because when I got up it was sticking out the side when I put some weight on it it popped back in 👍🏻 Then I cut a piece of wood to make a crutch and get to the mobile phone.
  3. And it's the one I had key hole surgery on in March. Bored now so got resist putting daft posts on
  4. Not a fan of Chinese engines or generators. But have had some success by very regular oil changes. Change oil after first day's work. I would then tend to change every 25 - 50 hrs running. The engines seem to drop a lot of shards and shavings especially in the first few hours.
  5. Yes most just pulled out. The bigger ones came out easy the small 5 in ones were harder to pull and needed a bit of a wiggle.
  6. Been there done that several times. Get some advice and possible proffesional help. Oil melts the tar you then put detergent on which makes it worse. Finally scrubbing and jet washing the loose stone away leaving a hole. I think the best thing to do is carry a spill kit and get the oil of asap. It may be good practice to put a soak sheet down before use. They make soak mats that don't absorb water so they don't get wet. Get the worst of the oil off and let the sun bleach it out over the next couple of years maybe ?
  7. From experience a zombie would be less frightening than dry rot.
  8. Yes there are no anti vib mounts on the electric. It's the chain cutting that vibrates on the large stihl which has a larger 3/8 chain.
  9. I have the big stihl electric saw. Big bar loads of power, well made. Do I use it often, rarely. The vibes on electric saws are dreadful. I can use a decent 2 stroke for hours but 20 minutes with an electric is heavy going on the hands. The cable can also be a pita.
  10. I think manufacturers build vehicles to keep you in the warranty bubble. Warranty is great but it's your fuel and time running it back to the dealer every five minutes if you get a bad one. I like Toyota even when totally shagged out they seem to get up for work on a snowy morning and tow 3 tonne all day.
  11. Doesn't seem long ago you could get a poverty spec double cab new for 14 k . Now most seem the wrong side of 24 k . I think because they are tax savers the manufacturers are cashing in.
  12. I am not a big fan of Mitsubishi . I have heard hilux not as good now but mine have been superb I will continue with Toyota until I have a problem.
  13. No but if you click on my signatures you should get pictures and info
  14. A bit of 1.5 cu metre dumpy a few Ibc and a 2 cu measured pick up body. If I was getting anywhere near 2cu per tonne I would still be doing logs.
  15. One tonne of green beech used to get me 1.4 cu metres of loose logs.
  16. We sell kindling and fuelwood sell tip tray baggers
  17. Thanks for the info. I think they stopped fitting the v6 in the vans about two years ago. 25mpg would be great but would expect less. They just have to prise my Amazon away from me know.
  18. I think your probably right. I would expect a normal sprinter to do 30 on a good day the 4x4 about 25 mpg. The 4x4 I think is still driving the prop round and it sits a bit higher. Off set that against its versatility it looks a great vehicle.
  19. I have had a couple of vito's and a vw lt 35 and all have been a joy to own. I am thinking of selling our 6 year old vito and old Amazon and rolling into one vehicle a 4x4 sprinter duo liner.
  20. I think your friends must be a Euro 6 engine. The latest merc engines are made by Iveco . The one I am looking at is euro 5 on a 15 plate. Rated to tow 3000 kg but not sure how well with 160 bhp and auto box
  21. The 7 % bio in diesel is held in check by solvents added to the fuel. After a few months the solvents evaporate and the veg oil starts to seperate any water in the tank just makes things 10 times worse. If any one is about to buy red leave it a week or two as they have different additive pack for winter.
