  1. You will find if you pay for advice ie surveyor, fire risk assessor or h&s every one of them has a get out clause in there terms and conditions. To think you could sue someone for free advice you found on the net we are getting there but this country is not quite there yet try america
  2. I dont want to put a downer on it but you can buy 25kg of the stuff for £3 how many hrs are you going to work to make up the £3. Find someone that has spent 40k on a proper set up and swap your saw dust for some finished product.
  3. I dont think moisture matters. We have 2 year seasoned beech ash mix 2 cubic meters for £130 still cant get rid of the stuff round our way. All I want is my poly tunnel empty
  4. I have no experience of Natwest but Barclays lost 40 k of my money on 2 seperate occassions and took nearly 6 weeks to return it. I have now paid off my mortgage to get rid of them. IMO the worst bank ever x 10. I have been with Santander business banking for at least 10 years with no problems.
  5. That disco looks like a good buy. We have a 53 plate commercial for the last 5 years towed hard now got 165k on clock very few problems I would have another but not a d3 or 4
  6. If the battery is good and the alternator is charging at 14v it could be diodes in alternator are shot and drags the battery down over night. IF you can get hold of a dc clamp meter it takes 2 seconds to find it.
  7. I am sure your right I was under the impression the GM engine was alloy thats why they got away with putting it in the RR. We have alot of cummins engines in our generators good engines especially at 1500 rpm but very heavy.
  8. After 20 years of being sign written I cant remember anyone ringing up because they see my van. I think it is more to reassure excisting customers that you are still legit. And puts people at ease if you are lost in an industrial est. You are more likely to get a going over by vosa if you are sign written.
  9. Hideous the engine is twice as heavy as the front axle can take and he has put a winch on as well for good measure. The Gm 6.5 is too heavy and that has an alloy block. Just as you reach 55 mph the engine will top out on revs and still only do 12 mpg. I have seen a few of these conversions most are poor drive like a boat and un insurable.
  10. I recently had a 42 page risk assessment rejected for not having enough detail. When I asked what they recommend I do to improve it they felt it needed a few more tick boxes and a bit more colour. If you have been doing the job for 20 years without major incident do you really need to write a manual for an idiot every time you go on site. BS legislation to create jobs for lazy civil servants.
  11. sorry no attachment
  12. There is a plate on them which says the empty weight which will be near 3 tonne. They are 8ft wide which looks huge behind a car. I towed a 7ft wide 9ft long one back and that was pushing the limits and we had marker lights on.
  13. They said it was amazing the amount of people that had pulled in and had been on it all day and where stopping for a top up. The old boy also said ' well that's how we used to do it, just feel a bit shifty doing it these days'. Having drunk all morning they drove back for some more
  14. toro 325 I think, had them for years 6ft deck with recycler. 25hp diesel 1 acre 20 mins no grass to collect very little left behind if you dont allow it to grow too long.
  15. So the 3.5 tonne must be a very well made little truck ?
  16. About £1.72 + vat last year from Mca Kingstone nr winchester also on ebay
  17. Stuff like this must be prime candidate for a massive chipper and out as biomass for power station or is it worth a lot less than £1700 that way ?
  18. By that time we would have decided its not worth the bother and bought elsewhere. Its a pile of cheap softwood you agree a price.
  19. We dont use pallets alot are treated and most are dirty full of nails and make horrible kindling. You are too far away as for how much I would pay for the timber it all depends on how it kindled but if I was collecting it would be £15 a tonne max. If you click on the lower link you will get a slide show of what we do.
  20. Tippers can be difficult to insure as it is. Nfu will not insure full stop unless the conversion was done proffessionally and has a serial no. I found alot of the others will not even quote for it.
  21. collecting it too far away transport will kill the value of it. The reason I ask about knots is too many and its a pain to get through a kindling machine. If you click on the banner below my post it will take you to our directory listing and our gallery may answer some questions on how to kindle it.
  22. You will have to keep us updated. They look a nice truck very similar looking from the front as the new Amazon. Is it alot better than the old mk 6.
  23. Yes it was following a defender when its wheels fell off
  24. Where abouts are they. do they have alot of knots
  25. I have a brand new refurb turbo if you know someone who needs it cost £750 want £250 to clear it.
