  1. we had 2 chippers nicked about 2 years ago from our lister rd depo. luckily they had trackers on and were found on a bit of waste land at the side of a jippo site in cosley (batmans hill rd cosley if anyone ever has anything go missing) hiding behind a Arctic trailer wish the light changed 10 secs earlier as i didn't have a clue they were there and would of loved to road kill them with the chipper!
  2. Just a heads up i work for the local council and whilst stopped at some red lights on the birmingham new road at 2pm, i saw someone in my mirror messing with the back of our 7.5ton truck, me and my colleague jumped out and checked what was happening and our chippers electrics and tearaway cable was undone, luckily the chipper had a lock on the hitch. the 3 jippo's were in a swb transit panel van and said they was seeing if we had any logs on the back. cant believe the the cheeky bastards had the balls to do it as there was loads of traffic about.
  3. i ask £50 a hour, normally fit them in at the end of the day, always state it needs to be stacked butt 1st as can be a right pain to untangle.
  4. thats exactly what it looked like on the birches, trees looked in perfect condition except film. cheers si
  5. dito ive seen the same today on a group of about 10, but haven't a clue what it is. at 1st i thought it was cob webs
  6. hi try changing the fuel filter as mine keeped loosing power and that sorted it?
  7. The books worth the money and a ideal starting point, the cds are just someone reading the book i personally wouldn't bother just get the book if you can. The book covers all sections ive got 2 study guides 1 with a blue cover which is a uk edition and a black one which was a us/aus one but came with some additional bits for the tpos , etc. the study guide is well worth the money as to get all the info from books would cost a fortune ive just spent £72 on 2 books 1 for fungi id and 1 for vta and i think the isa guide covers about 10-12 different sections if i recall correctly
  8. ive done both isa and rfs, i did my isa 1st and found it helped prepare for the rfs. the study guide is well worth the money. But if I had to do it all again I would do rfs 1st then book the test for isa as both are pretty much the same.
  9. i live just off bromley lane, where u live now?

  12. that sounds the most logical explanation
  13. the chippers never missed a beat, ive never noticed the light before dident even know there was one there, it was only ticking over when i noticed it will have to see if it changes color when is running/under load. ill call timberwolf tomorrow aswell to put my mind at rest.
  14. hi i have a tw125 and have just noticed this red led glowing and just wanted to know if its normal, ive taken a few pics of where it is. ive never noticed it before only noticed as i was just checking to see if it still started in my dark garage. the light is on the anti stress bypass thing. thanks in advanced simon
  15. hi ive always used jessops batteries for my camera's and all the kids toys last loads longer than anything else ive brought before. there 2700 mAh and i think most other brand batteries are 2100 mAh Jessops Express Charger with 4x AA Batteries - Jessops
  16. this ebay seller was selling a chipper a few weeks ago, i remember a post coming up on here some one asking advise or something. http://completed.shop.ebay.co.uk/andyrosemarie/m.html?LH_Complete=1&_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_since=15&_sop=12&_rdc=1&_rdc=2
  17. i work for local council and have the same probs too many managers who have not got a clue. i took me 3 years of pestering to get a full lowering kit and that was 12 months after passing my 40-41, not 1 member of the tree gang have got a up to date 1st ade ticket, and some of the specs of jobs are a joke. if your going to work for the local authority i think you just need to adapt to how they work as they are about 10 years behind in every aspect of arb. the only thing that has keep me where im at is that its on my door step, im home for 4pm every day, the sick pay and holidays are good and you know where you stand, but saying that if the right job came up i would not hesitate.
  18. definitely a scam i won a chipper a few years ago and they wanted payment thorough moneygram. i said i will only pay cash on collection and could pick up same day and never herd back off them. ive reported him to ebay as some one will probably get ripped off by this scammer.
  19. try your local machine shop or anywhere with a surface grinder just ask if they can hollow grind them. if not your local mower shop will do it
  20. is it 1 of these or something similar
  21. i think its what the hitch is attached to on a un braked chipper eg tw125 etc.
  22. hi ive always used the collins tree guide [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Collins-Tree-Guide-David-More/dp/0007139543]Collins Tree Guide: Amazon.co.uk: David More, Owen Johnson: Books[/ame]
  23. I also recomend The Manual of Wood Decays in Trees book and it's not to dear. I used that one when I was doing the rfs and it's a good read
  24. I'm 91kg and 6ft but still manage to get right out there:thumbup:
