  1. Thankyou for all the replies, ive sorted the labour problem for our main harvest up here in Scotland but im still looking to staff 2 other harvests in Kent and the borders. Richard, Pete ive got your numbers and you'll be hearing from me. Regards, Rik
  2. No, just for harvest. I know my first post sounds a bit abrupt but ive had so many young lads turn up and only last a day or 2. Money is resonable, if you work hard and graft theres a cash bonus on xmas eve and my wife will feed you. Back to the Lithuainian labour agency me thinks...
  3. Looking for someone to help with this years harvest as its a big one. The person will be helping out with all aspects of the harvest- Cutting/dragging tree's Building palllets of trees Working in the dispatch shed packaging trees for our internet sales web site Possibly some tractor driving You need to have your own transport, we work long hours 14-16 hours are normal days sometimes we work all night. Dont send me a post if you moan or bitch about being wet, cold and tired because i aint got time to listen. If we work late my wife will make you some supper. I need you to be there for 6 in the morning not 10 past and i dont know what time we'll finish from one day to the next so dont ask! We are based just out of Dumfries on the a711. Cheers

  6. Im gonna need a couple a-ton of woodchip for the garden in the next 2 -3 weeks and some more after the winter. Im based just out of dumfries so if there is anybody nearby get in touch. Cheers, Rik
  7. No contacts anymore but i worked out there in 2004 for 6 months and i loved it. Good luck i hope you find something.
  8. Now then chaps, i've just started my first 3 modules with the open university and was wondering if any one else is doing any work with them? Im doing a Bsc Hons in geo sciences should take about 5-6 years. The support i have had so far setting up the finance and module selection is great.
  9. Nail on the head Frankie, we've got 3 Berthroud spayers and i will not be buying anything else when they are nackered. Solidly made, comfortable and the little pouches on the webbing straps are useful for putting spare nozzles in.
  10. Thanks for all the info, i take it all the numbers are part numbers? Where do i order all that lot from? Cheers
  11. Where can i get a big/pimpin set of dogs for a 46 boys? J, i still havnt bought an alaskan, ive not had time to fart this year! never mind planking any of my wood up. Sorry to de-rail...
  12. I think the lads around £100 mark are getting it right, £200 is steep for something that looks like it would take ya 45-50mins if you got stuck in.
  13. Aye glyphosate is a systemic herbicide and travels around the target plant. It works at this time of the year it just takes a lot longer as the plant is not as active. My advice- Hit it now and again when you see re-growth.
  14. Eggs, it all depends on the height and the grade that you are buying. Give me shout when you have some prices and il see if i can beat them. Matty, we have some 40ft/50ft siberian spruce that we are using for corporate stuff. We have won awards for our frasers this year, we have some really good tree's this season. If anybody is after tree's i can deliver anywhere on the mainland uk and if you buy enough il pay the haulage.
  15. How many? What species? and what do you consider the right price?
  16. Just out of interest, how many people on here do anything with x mas tree's? We are doing a Big harvest this year with 40k tree's in Kent and then the same again here in Scotland. Dont really see anyone else posting about it...
  17. Dont hate em but i do not like being stung! On the quad checking cattle last week i hit one and it went inside my shirt and did me 3 times before i managed to kill it... Luckily there was no alergic reactions for me. Good show for the cattle though, me flying off the bike and ripping my shirt off.
  18. I just love it when track clips that have been thrown away end up in the hawthorn thats going through the chipper... Makes a proper bang....
