  3. No problem Ted, i will introduce you to some of the big growers over here. See if we cant get a few of them harnesses sold! Thought it was going to be hellish finding work but ive got 2/3 options at the mo, so we'll see what happens!
  4. HAHA unless you got some rabbits/squirrels to fly em at you wont get much of a demo im afraid... You need falcons for good display stuff.
  5. Haha hows things Rich? Remember that drive home? Take care mate
  6. Im leaving the world of xmas trees after this harvest. It was good for a few years but it just aint me. So im joining the rest of you looking for work... Im based just outside of Dumfries, but will travel for longer periods of work. Im an experienced groundsman (9 years) in tree surgery/site clearance , ive got the tickets and i am a grafter that likes to get things done. Ive spent a lot of time with big chippers, agricultural equipment, construction plant and forestry gear. Got CSCS, PTS, all spraying tickets and im about to start my class 1 training in January. Il be available from mid January. Needless to say ive got good references and some of you already know me. Cheers
  7. Lookin good Ap, Im 119kg myself so the bench needs to be WELL MADE to say the least. Not done anything for 6-8 months and i struggled on 2 n half plates a side last night... Need to get back at it. Im gonna start getting the steel together when we shut up for xmas.
  8. I didnt even know there was a training and health forum!!!
  9. Cheers Mark, Im gonna get back at it. 2 years ago i was in good shape and lifting 4 plates a side but since having my boy and work getting busy its all gone down hill! Il get some pics on when i start
  10. New year soon! Im gonna start lifting again but im miles away from a gym where im at so im gonna try and fabricate my own bench... Got all the gear in the work shop, anybody got any tips or plans? Cheers
  11. No worries, cheers Steve
  12. Steve have you put the raffle up yet, or have you already done it and im just being dense and cant find it? Cheers
  13. Stop washing it so fast it'll fall off!
  14. Its snowing here in kirkgunzeon!!! Watching it fall as i type...
  15. Sent him an Email. Me and the family love a bit of pig... Just depends if i can get it over to me. Good post
  16. We harvested 22 thousand 150-175cm NF for B&q... Thats where they get their trees from. Awkward customers though, as are all big companies.
  17. Nordman Fir or a Fraser fir both hold needles well if the base is placed in water and can still take up liquid. DO NOT get a norway or engleman spruce... Unless they are going outside. Hodge your not that far from me, im near Dumfries. If you take a road trip up i will happily give a fellow arbtalk member a good tree. Regards, Rik
  18. Happy to help. Only 4 thousand more Ted then im off for 2 months!!!
  19. If i am on Arbtalk it means that my good lady wife is not on Ebay... A GOOD THING !!!!
  20. Similar thing, driving down the east lancs rd between Leigh and Wigan about 4 years ago in the then works van when i spied a young-ish man and has wife and baby girl at the side of the road. Pulled over and asked if he was ok and found out that they had run out of fuel. Bundled him in the van and took him to the nearest garage, only 5 mins away. He used my jerry can so he didnt have to buy a tetra can for a fiver and filled up his car. He tried giving me a tenner and i blank refused it and told him that was my good deed for the year. He got the number off the side of van and rang my old boss and told him what had happened. We got 2 decent sized jobs off the back of that and my boss gave me £100 pound... Funny old thing karma
  21. No matter how wet/cold it is or how much its costing me in machinery breaking down and when my OWN staff steal from me... Another thread that one. I just remember that ive got a nice house, enough money to have a good standard of living and a wife and a son that love me and everything else no matter how bad it is just seems to pale into insignificance. Bit soppy for me, stay tuned for follow up post about guns, chainsaws and beer.... My motto has always been - there is always someone else worse off than me, so dont moan!
  22. What a cracking offer Tom, good on you. Get in touch with him Rob. Keep us all posted on how you get on.
  23. Ha me to, just tell me so i can go to bed ELG... Hows things Ted?
