  4. We watching bits and pieces of it......i have been deadwooding London Planes in Hyde Park opposite the barraks.......been listening to the military bands rehearsing and the cavalry.......very nice. Heres the Tree supplier info. Andrew Halksworth, managing director of Tendercare Nurseries which supplied the trees, said his employees did not know they would be working in Westminster Abbey until this morning. He said: "They thought they were going to a pre-Chelsea Flower Show presentation, they only found out they were coming here a few hours ago. When they found out they were delighted." Mr Halksworth added: "The trees are attractive, native trees - a great celebration of nature which is lovely to associate with a wedding." He said the trees were chosen because they are seasonal, native British trees. The hornbeam is known for being extremely hard and is said to symbolise resilience. The English field maple is said represent humility and reserve. It is the favoured wood used for harp making and it is also used to create medieval loving cups.

  14. Are you talking about the log sawing one?
  15. I dont think people object to you giving advice Hama.....and on many occasions it is informative and welcomed. From what i can see people pick you up when on giving advice (from pictures) you often remark that 'it is easy' or 'you'd have it down in a couple of hours or 'it will be safe as houses'.....Its comments such as these that seem to be queried...Tommer was joking with you....that was plain to see. You shouldnt abstain from giving advice when asked however.
  16. It seems that our woodlands are not immune to a bit of random vandalism with the youth leaving there own traces.......I spent alot of time in woodlands when a kid and i do not recall wanting to ruin it......yea we had a laugh and i'm sure we did things that some would frown upon but we also had a healthy respect for our wooded playgrounds....... anyway.....heres a few piccies of various 'traces'

  20. Thanks for that Janey......didnt know they it could take up residence in Beech, prunus and birch......that could get quite scary. Interesting bit regarding the hairspray when removing nests......we just pick the nests up as they are......then use a small blow torch to eradicate any remains on the limb. Week after next we are spraying approx 7 trees as part of a 'case study' in the park.......dont know all the details/aims etc but will keep you informed.
  21. nice one Janey....i will have a read when i can be bothered to go through the registration process......too early at the mo.
