  1. A li,me in a local park. I have started noticing quite a few park trees have girdled roots. Is this generally a result of bad planting or a compaction issue or both perhaps/?
  2. So here are some photos......extensive decay down main stem. One major scaffold already failed and on the deck. Heavy lean towards neighbouring garden. When i went to look at the job there was a family next door sitting having a bbq right underneath. Have advised not to do so until the tree is removed. Am looking forward to sectioning the trunk to see extend/journey of decay.
  3. Have been to see an ash today that has many hispidus brackets. These not only occur in the crown but extend right down the trunk. New ones as well as desiccated ones. There is also a very fine group of them approx 1 Mtr from the base. I read on a post of Gerrits that hispidus never occurs on the lower half of the trunk. Has anybody else experienced this? I borrowed a camera and took some fine shots but now the battery is dead so cannot upload at the moment but will do as soon as.
  4. Thanks David....will have a read.

My watch is nearly 2 years old now and although a little scratched it is standing up well.

Here's some thing I wrote some years ago when I was at a low....I called it ' A rough guide to living' Think about the future, be positive Extinguish your negative thoughts Submerge yourself in the river of dreams But remember, don't look back, and swim for your life For your past won't be too far behind Enticing you back, to its murky depths With its false and misleading beliefs However, be sure you can swim, for drowning is easy!
  22. You can get a 'crown reduction' and a 'formative prune'.

    veteran tree oak

Looks buggerd....if it is then maybe monolith for habitat.
  24. misread your post.....if the tree is deemed to be dangerous to people or property im sure that would take priority.
  25. wait until they have fledged.....tpo or not.....not only is it against the law to disturb them it is also ethically and morally wrong:thumbdown:
