  1. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr indeed!!!!! An ever increasing problem it seems.....here in Bristol much the same. What to do? pfffff not sure. Perhaps a step up in the education of children in schools as to the importance and benefits of trees. Get to the kids whilst they are young so they grow up respecting THEIR trees. May go some way in reducing dog damage, fires in hollow trees and graffiti at a later date?

  22. Tucked away on the Bristol to Bath cycle path in what is a predominantlyHawthorn wood. Only 3.5mtr girth but a fantastic veteran. Unfortunately as with alot of veterans in close proximity to the urban environment it has suffered severe fire damage. A great habitat tree it could really do with some haloing as there is some serious encroachment from neighbouring trees and some endweight reduction on a couple of limbs to try and preserve this tree for as long as poss. There are a few young oaks nearby so i would be tempted to carry out a spot of veteranisation on one of them to ensure there is an 'heir apparent' for when this one finally clogs it.
  23. Not my pinhole David unfortunately.....just messed around with.
