  1. they would look good with a lunge thrown in.
  2. Can anyone recommend some good boots? I was thinking of getting these Meindl Burma Goretex - anyone have them? (although they are £170 so perhaps something around the £100 would be nicer on my wallet) cheers
  3. have you tried any new gadgets? they aren't just made to make 'muscle probs' go away. fair enough if you can manage with a prussik and rope but your life would be alot easier with a few adjustments.
  4. great early 90's graphics at the end
  5. Went to see it in 3D last night - awesome! I'm going to see it again before they stop showing at the cinema. Don't think it will be the same on DVD (unless its on bluray with 60" HD Plasma). and re: the alien girl - she is alot hotter as an alien than in real life.
  6. I have a little shadow that goes in and out with me, And what can be the use of him is more than I can see. He is very, very like me from the heels up to the head; And I see him jump before me, when I jump into my bed. The funniest thing about him is the way he likes to grow— Not at all like proper children, which is always very slow; For he sometimes shoots up taller like an India-rubber ball, And he sometimes gets so little that there’s none of him at all. He hasn’t got a notion of how children ought to play, And can only make a fool of me in every sort of way. He stays so close beside me, he’s a coward you can see; I’d think shame to stick to nursie as that shadow sticks to me! One morning, very early, before the sun was up, I rose and found the shining dew on every buttercup; But my lazy little shadow, like an arrant sleepy-head, Had stayed at home behind me and was fast asleep in bed. 7. 2010 will be v. interesting. my second year in arb. all i'm thinking about at the moment is keeping in full time work to get experience. after that i have big plans and ambitions. we'll see how it goes
  8. i just bung all my ropes and friction cord in as they are, no pillow case or owt. even the wire strop goes in i stick one of those gel things in the drum with the ropes. 40 deg normal wash they came up like new last time after some really shtty weather and a mouldy old oak.

  18. pull your cheeks apart? arf.
  19. yeh that does look good, but what isn't immediately apparent is the price. £36.45+vat for 0.7m only then +£18 for 1m, +£19.50 for 1.5m
  20. i agree. i will get the real thing at some point, but i have all the materials to make a good home made one bar the pulley which will set me back £20. at the moment i can't justify £150 when £20 will do the job:001_smile:
  21. This is what i wrote in my other rope guide thread... "...retrieval is impossible because of two reasons; With a spliced eye, the climbing line will not go through the pulley then onto the retrieval line. Without a spliced eye, the climbing line will go through the pulley, but will also go through the retrieval line." That's the problem i face with the standard swing cheek pulleys i currently own. edit: found this, thanks marc. you're right it is expensive. I was hoping to spend around £15 http://www.proclimber.co.uk/catalogue/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=241
  22. Can anyone point me in the direction of a pulley that is fairly small but can accommodate a 13mm climbing line with spliced end? (for home made rope guide) thanks.
  23. Right, I have played around a bit and made a bodge job with a bowline loop, prussik attached to a micro pulley and ALOT of electrical tape. Trouble is the pulley only just takes through 13mm of rope. No more. Therefore retrieval is impossible because of two reasons; With a spliced eye, the climbing line will not go through the pulley then onto the retrieval line. Without a spliced eye, the climbing line will go through the pulley, but will also go through the retrieval line. Apart from the art cocoon, could someone let me know of a pulley than will accommodate for a spliced eye whilst being small enough to go through the loop when retrieving. Thanks
