  1. nope, just as i was too slow to post, you missed my edit.
  2. it happens when the surface of the water freezes and the pressure of the container pushes the unfrozen water out of the weakest part of the ice. as the water comes out the hole it also freezes, causing the spikes. case closed. edit: Oi! when i logged in to post the answer, no one had figured it out.
  3. i call it an 020 even though i've been in tree work for just 1 year. it's quicker to say and rolls off the tongue more than 'ms200t'. (plus where i work all the top handles are from the late 90's apart from mine )
  4. green's in hadleigh (nr ipswich) -> Home BTS have a shop in needham market (between diss and ipswich) (not sure of location within needham)

  13. +1 on the aladdin challenger. i have had the 1 litre version for half a year and it's always steaming hot. i even left it for 24 hours accidentally and it was still at an enjoyable temperature. it has sugar/coffee/teabag compartments at the bottom and has two cups. here's some cheap prices for both 1 litre and 1.8 litre..... Aladdin Challenger Flask White 1 Ltr Gadget Show Winner on eBay (end time 12-Dec-09 08:55:03 GMT) Brand New Aladdin Challenger Flask SSteel 1.8L capacity on eBay (end time 01-Dec-09 09:50:12 GMT)
  14. mine was £436 from my local dealer a few months ago. (12") it ranges anywhere between £425 to £500 so shop around. if you see a good price on the internet, but it is too far away (stihl don't let new customers receive saws by post), get your local to price match (that's what i did).
  15. make sure you get at least 20% off list price. most dealers should be able to offer that.
  16. i bought a stihl ms181 the other day and was very impressed with such a small saw. very cheap aswell (around £195-200 inc vat) it was light enough to chuck around snedding up and seemed quite sturdy.
  17. i like it alot! the crown didn't start off like a perfect semi circle so you did the right thing.

  25. this isn't quite giving out a clear message. those who don't know may read this and not realise you can converse with the local tree officer and from that perhaps carry out works on the protected tree.
