  2. yes it was 10% i personally don't see the point in small reductions, but, it's work and great experience at putting a little thought into tree work, rather than lumping big bits of wood to the ground. i enjoyed it.

ok cheers, i'll probably just add it to an order when i need a few things, rather than getting it on its own.
  6. yes i agree, but for some reason, the thin looking side is thin because it had lost most of the leaves. next year it may look alot more even.....

  13. can someone link me to pics or video's of it in action? cheers
  14. ukminch - not 100% on the details - i'm just the stupid climber but as far as i know, the landlord wanted it maintained in some way and the reduction/deadwood was all we got. and some of it was over hanging the garden at the back. it was getting tangled but nothing too frustrating. and we only used the ladder once even though it was up all day.... john - yes sorry, worded badly. the percentage was stated. i'll let you guess though. see how accurate i was and thank you for replies.

  17. 90 year old walnut. the tree officer said we could only give it a small reduction and deadwood. feel free to slate me, although if no one does i'll be happy first 3 pics close up are before, during and after (although we didn't get a pic of the final stage as the light was going so had to take a pic whilst i still had a bit to do) last 2 pics are slightly further, before and (almost) after
