  3. You left your nice airy combat trousers at home on a steaming hot day, you come out the tree and you've got an hour or two of draging to do in your hi flex slow cookers. or the client has dogs and hasn't cleared up or mown the lawn .

  11. The carb on my 200 has gone pear shaped for the second time. got a new 020 carb ordered, any tips on swap please.I believe it to be straight forward with H & L screws one turn out then fine adjust, is the carb fit easy? thanks in advance for any guidance.
  12. Please can we not let this thread descend into a rant against college education etc... There is already another thread on this subject. What I am writing about largely concerns my experiences with a 'shabby employer' than any incompetance or lack of experience on my behalf. Well put that man! Im Enjoying this thread . Also, I wont use a blunted saw with no chainbrake up a tree, its dangerous and sloppy work practice. I had a climber turn up with ms200, it had the carb problem we all know, he had it set to 'tick over' with the chain spinning merrily, rogered rubber vibe mounts, chain brake handle broken off.I refused to let him use it on MY job and MY insurance, does this mean im not a real world arborist , or a bit green? I should have thought it would indicate good basic work practice! well done Tye!
  13. My tw 125 has managed 2 years regular use with no bearing problem yet, thats reasonable methinks!
  14. Plippy, there are good and bad first purchase lathes, take your time, work out what diameter you wish to turn, and if you have no wish (like me),to go spindle turning, you can save money and get a better lathe for your money, if you get stuck pm. me and I will give you some leads
  15. Surely this can' t be true Minelabowners TV - Brave or Mad

  19. TW 125 is a lovely little machine, should get one for under 10 k,stab in the dark on running costs all in per hour at £5 to 6, but I may well stand corrected!
  20. Steel cored short strop,4-6 3way carabinas, tearaway chainsaw cord, first aid kit(eye cleaner, blood stopper bandage etc, antihistomine, cellox for bad bleeds, disinfectant). PPE; c/saw boots, trousers, helmet, gloves. Throw line and bag, silky saw, safety glasses. not a comprehensive list, but a good start. You may want to consider a basic rigging setup, and spikes for take downs.Hope this helps!
