  1. ??? I've been out of London all night, away from TV and I've only just got back to.... Ealing! It's all quiet in my bit of the borough, thankfully. I'm in a bit of a state of disbelief about it all
  2. She did get rather excited about it, didn't she?
  3. Do you not supply corporate clothes for your employees? If you don't then it's a little unfair to tell them what they can and can't wear. If your female employee isn't bothered about sunburn or getting scratched to buggery, then that's her perogative. I've never worn anything overly revealing at work, but I have been on site in just sporty crop tops where there has been very little interaction with the public. One company actually supplied corporate vests to all three of us laydees, which were very smart and very practical in hot weather. However, all of us were sensible enough to wear something suitable underneath and we weren't swinging around the trees unfettered!
  4. Whale sushi followed by this . That's my evening taken care of. I find this film treads a very fine line between rivetting and too disturbing for me, but it's very good so no doubt I'll end up watching again. Good shout.
  5. ??? The whole point of smoking is that it DOES change your perceptions and reaction times. If it had no effect, then people wouldn't smoke it!!! As someone who has never smoked, I have seen what I load of b......s it really is when people state that it doesn't really effect them
  6. I've never used it. I stick to ACF50 - if it's good enough for the aviation industry then it's good enough for me
  7. I was up in the Chilterns today and the chalk grassland flora is very different to what I'm more used to here in London, even though it's only a few miles away.
  8. I have no issue whatsoever with anyone who likes to indulge in their cgemicals, whether it's beer, weed, crack etc,as long as it doesn't affect me in any way. Smoking dope on site? Well that's just totally disrespectful to me, the client and the company and I would have no qualms in getting them sacked. The often heard arguement from the smokers is that, oh, it's ok, it doesn't effect me. Apart from that being a scientifically proven falacy, if that genuinely was the case, then why bother smoking at all? This is such a dangerous industry, anyone who increases the risk of injury to themselves and the others around them by taking psychoatives in the workplace should not have any place in arb'. RDTing is a tricky one though, as it doesn't differentiate between those who have the odd weekend indulgence and those who take the proverbial and see nothing wrong in smoking at work. We wouldn't tolerate a workmate who cracked open a can or two of Special Brew at lunch, so why does anyone think smoking weed is any different? This is an interesting thread and has shown up some interesting opinions on the subject.
  9. It's exactly the kind of programme I make time to watch. I'm looking forward to it even more as I now know it's our very own AT whale
  10. Whale-tastic. Is this the star of the AT thread? Sperm Whale: Inside Nature's Giants Special - Sunday 07 August - Programme Details - Radio Times
  11. Oh you poor, poor thing. It must be really awful for you having to do what most of us take for granted. Your missus deserves a stern talking to about this. How dare she work all day as well and then not put in an extra few hours shopping and cooking and generally giving up her life to look after you. My heart bleeds, and all that.
  12. Virgin. Very fast at any time and I've had very few problems in the three years (ish) that I've been with them.
  13. Well done on getting through the first part of your Tech Cert I hope you do just as well on the management section.
  14. They're cool I've only rarely seen an adult, let alone a hatchling.
  15. What a nice change to see a bit of positivity and common sense when it comes to tree related subsidence
  16. Can you arrange go out with a trained climber? Seeing someone climb safely and efficiently and taking their advice while actually on site will be much better and easier to understand than answers given here .
  17. In answer to your question, yes, every tree removal that requires planning permission is checked. When all the initial paperwork is printed, the details, including the tree species, are taken word for word from the application. So if the applicant has got the species wrong, then the resident notification will be wrong. This may not be picked up until the inspection has taked place, as quite frequently two seperate dept's deal with TPO app's (Planning and/or Tree Section). Or it may already have been felled and the notification left up by mistake...
  18. On a slight tangent, any courses/lectures/seminars that I come across I have been putting in the AT Calendar. Please check what's going on and add any dates that you think would be of interest
  19. Luckily, I don't seem to have any pics of that particular phase of my life
  20. I'll try not to be so blonde and actually recognise you this tme
