  1. Termination knot in one end of the climbing line- ise a |VT once in the tree and a bowline and prussik to access the tree. Running bowline used aplenty in rigging apps.
  2. The 8mm liros really isnt suitable for this knot on a marlow split tail or a yale split tail as a lanyard/ side strop. It just binds up too much.
  3. I made 9 cube of chip today.
  4. Fab bed mate!!
  5. Ah i got it now. Poor bugger.
  6. Thats nasty. So...is that a pic of you? Did your mate have his shins split? Did the pulley get stuck in your throat? Sorry- i am not sure i understand your post.
  7. Heres a good weight carrier if you dont need 4x4:http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/trading-place/30982-cabstar-tipper-chip-truck.html
  8. You are up against the age old problem of arb waste- there are few vehicles that wont be legally over their limit when full. If you are doing urban work then the cabstar is a very good choice. If you have a tracked machine then put it on an ifor or atlas tipper with caged sides. Tow that with the defender and leave it on site until the end of the day when you have emptied the trailer.
  9. I have a roofrack on the cab. You can just about see stuff in this pic......taken OFF road:sneaky2:
  10. Adam is correct. I havent had an issue in 8 years though. When, and if, i get stopped, I will address the issues that they warn me about on the side of the road.
  11. Like has been said- chill out. Your child would have soon gone to sleep. The best thing you could have done was let your 2 year old go to sleep getting used to the noise. My son slept through everything and still does at the age of ten, even a smoke detector going off outside his bedroom door. If you creep around your house and make sure everything is mega silent the moment your child goes to bed at night for fear of he/ she waking up or not going to sleep, then noise will always be a problem and the child will rule YOUR life in tghe evening when it should be asleep. Get it used to noise from day one. I had my 30th birthday party with a 3k sound system under his bedroom window and he slept through it.
  12. It holds just over 3.25 cubic metres when rammed. My truck is so mechanically good its like a new one. The 300 has been rebuilt. I have a 935i chipper, and often has all my kit on the roof too. I live in cornwall so its no stranger to hills. On a very steep hill i may have to get down to 2nd but very very rarely 1st gear. If you want speed you have to sacrifice working ability and carrying capacity and towing capacity....and not have a landrover. Fuel consumption is horrendous mind you. 15- 16 mpg when draging up a hill loaded right up?
  13. This cost me about £350 all in, and about 3 nights of work......Had it for about 8 years now, the top half was ply for ages, only put the ali on last year. That was £90 of the £350 BTW.
  14. Minimum £26600 here....probably more like 30k as its horrible ground.
  15. Maybe so. I always put extra in just to make sure.
  16. Yeah but to get a cubic metre of logs in, the box would want to be bigger than a cube anyway in order to allow for air space.
  17. You use that grease gun?????? In 13 years i have never greased a bar or needed to! But yes, their service is excellent.
  18. Some good pics there mate.
  19. It was roasting here yesterday, but is now cool and misty. Doing website stuff and paperwork before Olly's sportsday this afternoon.
  20. How do you sharpen the mp3 thing?
  21. It comes up 3rd on google already. And with our support (which costs next to nowt) it will be top.
  22. I havent got a laptop so wont be able to partake in this thread. Besides, now i have read a bit of it i have realised that i am not bored. I have just chipped 2 cubic meters (after chipping) of leylendii for my neighour.
  23. Is there going to be a husqvarna representation / stand at your show Justin?
  24. 3rd on my search....pretty impressive IMO.
  25. i vaguely remember some guy in the news who went on a tree killing spree a year or two back. totally random tree felling in large numbers. He was caught, and said he liked the noise they made when they fell or something!!
