  1. There are special glues specifically for this purpose Matty, which dry particularly clearly.
  2. Great trucks let down by rotting bodywork and poor brakes. The perkins engins are bombproof.
  3. :lol:PMSL
  4. :laugh1:
  5. Well done Tony. Good stuff.
  6. Wowo thats incredible for oak! Very nice indeed!
  7. Totally agree there. I have been disappointed with all the bean to cups i have come across TBH. I like the way i make it, and the bean to cups just dont seem to come out the same.
  8. I could do with a new bit that holds the coffe....the handle has snapped on my machine. This gaggia has been repaired twice, but wont make another repair. You tried Briel machines? They make superb coffee:thumbup1:, but have serious reliability issues.
  9. Starbucks or costa (i forget wihch) have brought out this instant coffee stuff. Its quite pricey, but when my Gaggia goes wrong thats what i reach for. It doesnt taste like gone off weetabix like all the other instants do, and doesnt seem to glue up your mouth like them either. Failing that, tescos do these funny little filter things you just put on top of your cup and pour boiled water through, like a filter coffee. 10 strength five for £1.99:thumbup1:
  10. I was having a look at your website and notice you have been in south cornwall. Just out of curiosity, where was that?
  11. I reckon thats about the size of it. I hope a husky rep sees this thread TBH.
  12. NIce pics Ace. Grandad been teaching you all about PPE too I see:lol:
  13. It was obviously deemed as crap in comparison to stihl's new offering as all their other toppers have been that the august 'massive release' that was promised had to be moved back again so they could do a total rebuild:001_rolleyes:
  14. Heres a few pics for you Ian.
  15. NIce one geoff.
  16. So are 4 stroke a bit less revvy in general? This sounds a bit more like what I would look for then. Obviously he fondly imagines that he is going to get on a big fat KTM and start straight off lol!
  17. I think the whole thing about kilning stuff for food use is from a disproportional sense of danger that is drummed into society nowadays. Unless you supply something with bugs obviously crawling on it then once the piece is sanded and oiled it is safe. (Kilning is supposed to eliminate bugs). Or perhaps he was selling kilned products........
  18. Is a kx 80 a kawasaki Matty? (i know less trhan F.A. about bikes lol)
  19. Beech oak or sycamore are all excellent. oil as mentioned above, or these guys offer some superb products, including food safe finishes. This is an oak one i made for the raffle:
  20. Looked at their website today. I reckon a trip down there is in order. Whatever he gets will be getting a proper silencer too....
  21. My son olly is looking at getting a motorbike (he is nearly 11 BTW) to mess around on about the farm. We are told that the CRF100 would be a good machine. Can any of you biker knowledgeable types out there offer any advice or info on this or similar machines, and even possibly if you have or know of one for sale?
  22. IMO vermeer make pretty much the best chippers out there. Good choice. Parts from vermeer (most of which are easily sourceable elswhere) are extortionate however- i never buy bearings etc from them, for example.
  23. Those ar the sort of prices i would suggest Big J. Cornish oak never reaches the dizzying heights of £8 though lol! Its measurement is the mid quarter girth (in inches) squared, times the length of the log (in feet), divided by 144. So you measure the girth of the log at the centre point, in inches, divide that figure by four, square that figure, multiply it by the length of the log (in feet) and divide that figure by 144. That gives you the number of hoppus feet in the log.
  24. If you put the word Haix into the search engine tool in the banners across the top, or the phrase 'chainsaw boot', you will have a plethora of information on the subject! I like haix protector pros.
  25. Belt sanders are okay to a point, after planing, but you will need to finish with an orbital sander or by hand, as you say, with finer and finer grades of paper, as the finish you apply will bring out all those little sanding marks that you think you have sanded out lol. I use different oils for different things. danish oil is a good all rounder, but can darken the wood a little bit. Check out these guys for superb quality oils for every application and lots of useful info. It is the oil/ varnish etc etc that you apply that brings the colour out of your work.
