  1. Probably right. Western power delivered some poles of 56; once that were too short for the job for which they were intended, and when chatting to them, they said 99.9% of any electric poles went no deeper than 6' in the ground.
  2. I think Mr M.Hill has got the edge though mate, sorry........Norway!!!!!
  3. Mate, we've nothing on the likes of Jojam (great to meet you there BTW jo and james- top effort) with our roughly 500mile round trip!!
  4. Tbh mate that is the best outcome you could've had, as it is unsellable to mills- it rots fast, and is pretty poor quality fitewood. Not the worst, but pretty poor and not nice to split. It is okay for internal carcassing wood, but that market is sewn up by the builders merchants already. If you want to clear a load of it, the chainsaw carvers have it sometimes.
  5. Now we're talking....
  6. Forget those crap german or swedish things. McCulloch all the way, no matter what they say. I think they do a really nice silver cased one too.
  7. So did the press turn up? I have searched and asked loads of people if they saw anyting about it and no-one did. Shame. How many tons did you get from it in the end?
  8. Thats something we have done in the past. Bit of a cheat, but if it is a retaining wall of over 1.5m high or with second hand stone or facing blockwork etc then it is more than acceptible i reckon.
  9. Ashiny new silky and sawpod to match off the Excellent Jonesie. Thanks mate.
  10. now thats just weird!LOL. Anyway we dont want another scot in charge!he-he.
  11. man, farm sales down here are a hotbed of robbed gear from all over. Sadly. Well keep our eyes open.
  12. Hammond the hamster has been the stig on more than one occasion, as has Mansell and various others....
  13. Check out Rawnsley Woodland Products. He has been converting used oil for years now and runs two huge generators, handlers, chippers, sawmill, cars etc etc on it. He spent abiout £2000 on the equipment and mixes the glycol waste product with sawdust to make a sort of wood fuel brick too. Filters etc are not a problem as he is converting it to diesel not just putting oil in the tank which is where preheaters etc etc come in to play. Having said that i know a chap who runs an 02 plate sprinter on veg oil and diesel mixed in the tank with no mods to the vehicle and no probs after 3 years!
  14. No you dont.........a G reg nightmare probably. Not making much money yet £1270 wed lunchtime.
  15. Hell mate- that was well lucky. I hit a gate crook with my 088 wearing a 3foot bar the day before yesterday, which was about 8foot up an ash tree that i waas ringing after i had felled it. Maybe that was why you didnt hit yours. Could have been worse- i took the four foot bar off just befor i started the job!! I love farm jobs!
  16. Jon, Jon, Jon what have you done mate? Dangerous Brian is right about your missus I reckon!
  17. Yada yada yada.....radiator shmadiator......we havent got any....... or am i just jealous?:001_tongue:
  18. That is pretty much where your problem lies methinks. I can get wireless through a ceiling or one 22" thick wall no problem, and someone sat in the derive about 15-20" away could probably access the wireless, but through two walls or upstairs at the other end of our fairly small house it is pretty sketchy. As that is not normally how we use the wireless it is not much of an issue, so i am afraid i cant offer any help. I have used long phone line extension leads before with no problem though- I have seen them on a reel so they must be fairly long i would imagine.
  19. And some lovely timber too. Milled a small one- extremely heavy dense wood with a beautiful colour.
  20. Good ish saw- im a stihl man- but two mates have recently bought the silver sided ones and the build quality is non existent and they are very plasticky. Husky need to go back in time a few years to when they built really good saws i reckon.
