  8. Hmmmmm not sure I will be wearing any of that .........unless its to my local YMCA meet:lol:
  9. Sorry to hear it Steve. I think though that you had already made this decision, and IMO it was the right one, however tough. I have been in the situation 4 times in my life, 3 in the last 3 years, its a very hard time.
  10. go on- you know it makes sense......
  11. In the 9 years since i had it done no insurer has mentioned any reports. VOSA have stopped me and went over the vehicle, no problems, even though i stopped replacing the mudguards long before that, and I am sorry you feel i was being pedantic Kev, that was not my intention.
  12. The fact that those stihl carving bars are of an atrocious quality isnt going to help.
  13. HOW MUCH???????????? I did mine for about 1/3 of that, ali box etc etc. Outside of this forum i CANNOT find any evidence that there is such a thing as a 3500kg chassis, even from my garage. The difference is in the brakes and suspension I am assured.
  14. 24" bar!!!!! that must fly!!
  15. Couldnt agree more. IMO using your mobile on my time as the employer is verging on sackable. Mine stays in the vehicle.
  16. What a stunning tree!
  17. Good luck.
  18. What a stunning collection of images. I would love to have the eye and the hardware to produce images of that calibre. You have somehow managed to even make London beautiful!!
  19. Very nice, simple but effective.
  20. Good job too.
  21. A carver would probably give good money for it if its in good nick.
  22. MS361, 16" bar.
  23. Thanks for your reply. Obviously there are some out there that will climb these trees and disrupt scientific works, but I think it is a bit out of line to assume that everyone who would want to climb or even go and admire these trees would be causing the effects you describe. Perhaps with more information and less of the cloak of secrecy the scientists and other interested parties could be accommodated? Surely in an environment that belongs to nature, and therefore every living creature on the planet, risks to disruption of research should be taken into account? I feel that to generalise that anyone other than the likes of sillet et al are the only ones who will not cause damage to these trees, or would not be perhaps even an asset to the science being carried out, is pretty out of line. I refuse to accept that anybody could have such a level of self conceit as to imagine that the handful of scientists involved in the research are the only people with care and respect.
  24. Something i dont understand is why they feel that it is necessary to be so secretive. These trees have been around for thousands of years, surviving fires, floods and everything else. I wonder what gives them the right to maintain this aura of secrecy over trees, which lets face it are part of the planet. Do they honestly belive that people who are capable and desirous of seeing or even climbing these trees will cause harm? I have a copy of the original National Geographic article which virtually pinpoints some of these giants, yet they are still there and healthy. I find what comes across as some sort of superiority from these people rather condescending to say the least, from these self appointed guardians.
