  1. LOL just what i thought. Guilty of exactly the same practise though:blushing:
  2. Those nivas arent that bad off road. bits fall of, yes, but hey ho, i half tore some bits off the landy today in the woods...
  3. Haha- i hate being stuck. It even more insulting when my mates usually-needing-recovery-130 sailed out!!!
  4. Had to get the flippin winch out today too....I hate self recovery, but my god it was sticky and slimy... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mgo06-Qk1JY]YouTube - Landy loaded and stuck[/ame]
  5. Just a bit tim. The road from the ferry on the way home is well steep- low first all the way to the top......with the odd wheelspin at the front too....As they say-"when needs must, the devil drives.."
  6. I did, but then decided not to sell, as circumstances really mean that i would be lost without the rig, and my situation changed, allowing me to hold on to it.:thumbup1:So they havent been relieved of a ligfe of breakages and abuse....ripped the side step and some body capping from behind the cab off today in the woods, and damaged the snorkel......and a wing and the cab....and the transmission has started rattling after heavy winching duties and off roading fully loaded....:blushing:
  7. It certainly works hard....i had about 3/4" between the axle and the bump stop...:blushing:Im just uploading a vid onto youtube of winching that lot out of the woods... Those ships are huge...we saw one being taken out last year (on the same contract in a different parcel of woodland) and the opposite bank vanished!!
  8. There were some pretty cool tree goings on too. This pic shows two joined together- we reckon that the one tree had a branch resting in a fork of the other tree which has totally enveloped it in time.
  9. The route to get there wasnt too bad either...it is the King Harry Ferry near Falmouth. The Fal estuary is a VERY deep water port, and these ships are in storage. Weird sight.. We were working in the woods above the river:thumbup:
  10. I have been sooo busy for the last few3 months that i have hardly had time to get on arbtalk, let alone post. Thought you lot may like some of these pics.. These are from in the wood- devastation where there was a lot of sycamore to be removed... which we tested the trucks out with....
  11. The minimum down here for Western Power is ua1 and all parts of ua2. Anything else is not required at base level, but are an advantage.
  12. Beautiful piece of wood there.

Ad, i forgot to say the other day, but you should give Jonesie a ring about it, Im sure he will be able to offer some advice.
  14. Jeez i cant believe what i have been reading- its just ridiculous!!!
  15. Good to meet you too Ad. You can come and get wood as soon as you like.....i am truly struggling for space now...Just give me a bell or a text and we'l go from there.

  16. Great firewood when dry. Your farmer can save a fortune on tanalised fencing products and use alder instead which will outlast tanalised anyway. Turners love it for the colour. I dont know, but i imagine with that volume of timber the woodfuel people may be interested?
  17. They look like a nightmare to get right!
  18. Actually i think you got there first mate:thumbup:
  19. Steve, you may even have heard of the gaffer- apparently he is a scot now working in uruguay
  20. Yeah the 110 isnt fitted with rol bars as standard, even the hi-cap. Get down to the scrappy and grab the whole system off a disco- it fits straight on, and will make a huge difference.
  21. Brilliant as ever- dean put it well-' mesmerising'...
  22. Here is a pic of one. Note the weight written on the front wing....
