    A winter tale

    oh dear.......
  8. You planning on doing a bit of aerial rescue Dave??? I must get over to yours ASAP to sort that truck out. Feel pretty bad about that, but I havent had a moment spare for ages.....looks like I may have a couple of days soon though. Ill call you mate.
  9. I have been extremely disappointed with this helmet. The visor didnt last a year unti;l the hinge section snapped off, costing me a new visor. The visor became scratched within a very short time as it didnt clear the front of the helmet, rendering it useless, and now one of the plastic clips holding the inner harness to the actual helmet has disintegrated, meaning that i cannot wear it. I also found it hotter and heavier feeling than the petzl vertex which i have gone back to. A faultless bit of kit IMO. TBH other than the lowering equipment from stein, I dont really rate their gear at all.
  10. A farmer gets a call from his son...."Dad, Dad, I've just run over a pig and hes stuck under the tractor still alive...."...."shoot it and bury him"... said the farmer... About half an hour later the phone rang again...."I've done that, now what should i do with his bike and the speed camera???"
  11. Thats brilliant mate. Thanks. I will rip the magnet out of a big speaker tomorrow!!
  12. I liked your post:thumbup1:
  13. Im hoping it is just that- i reckon a bit of woodchip is in there. The breather on the tank is clear, and the hose is good. Is it possible that there could be corrosion at all on the solenoid that releases the butt to let it down, resulting in poor effort? Or is that ulikely- ie i wondered if the plunger may be not operating fully?
  14. Dont worry about vermeer selling them- they are used to selling high quality expensive kit. Beside, you get what you pay for in this world:sneaky2:
  15. I need some pointers please. The tipper on my truck has just developed a fault which is that it wont drop properly. It tips fine, but the drop back down takes about 10 minutes, which is obviously unacceptable. The pump part is off a transit (it has a black metal reservoir with the pump bolted to one end, a solenoid on the top and a return valve switch/ valve on the side). It started being really slow all of a sudden a few days back. What sort of things do i look for? My first try will be to drain all the fluid out and put fresh in it. I will also remove the pipe from the ram (whilst supporting the butt on a loader) to make sure it isnt the seals in the ram all twisted up (although given that it tips up fine i am assuming they are ok). What does the release mechanism comprise of, and is it repairable? Would dirt etc (woodchip dust) cause this? Ta in advance:thumbup1:

    Helmet cams

Did you not get it through Adi Josh??
  17. lol very good.
  18. Most chainsaw boots are very hard wearing and will last well, and as work boots go they are not that heavy either IMO, and many are now gore-tex lined too. Haix seem very popular (I have used the protector pros for years), but a search through threads on the forum will reveal a broad selection of recommendations and preferences of makes from members.
  19. Good call Justin. Come on people....dig deep!!
  20. I reckon that given the nature of some posts on this site that this is one of the naughtiest sites out there- i mean killing trees???????WTF:lol::lol:
  21. Almost totally fooked now. I have waited about ten minutes to be able to write this as the page loads up, and it wil take about that to post it. was sort of okay earlier.
