    hedge laying

  3. Hi all. Just got my first chipper a TP 200 and I want to service it. Does anyone know the numbers for the following filters: Oil Air Fuel And hydraulic fluid. And also let me know if there is anything else i should do apart from lube all the moving parts? Thanks in advance. Mark Sent from my GT-S5690 using Tapatalk 2
  4. Are you still running the RBs? I was considering one and converting it to a tipper. How are reliable and expensive to run are they? Cheers Sent from my GT-S5690 using Tapatalk 2
  5. That's the same stove i've got. I keep it smouldering through night the blast it out the next morning. I clean it once a year and have never had more than a hsnd full out of it. As mentioned above get really hot, fill the fire box leave sll vents open for a couple of minutes. Then shut it right down including thr baffle. Occasionly it just goes out and occasionly it burns out but most nights it's fine. Wood species makes a bit if a difference also as mentioned above. As a rule of thumb i find the subtle controls are the higher ones. Ie the baffle give more control than the top vent which gives more than the bottom. If that makes sense. 6. I will post pictures of it going through the chipper for you:) Sent from my GT-S5690 using Tapatalk 2
  7. I'll see if see will be happy with fell and replant - it is probably better value for money. It's not a fungal bracket, it a cut thats been covered in something. Sure it's Beech, i see how it may look like a Plum, but don't think it is. Thanks all.
  8. Also a picture of the damage from where the limb was ripped off.
  9. Hi all, I was out quoting this morning and one of the trees I looked at was this smallish Copper Beech. The owner, asked if I could make it 'less straggly'. The tree has lost a large limb earlier this year from the hedge side and at the same time had a number of smaller laterals removed - it is now pretty much 2D (as you look at the photo there is no growth towards or away from the camera). It is exposed to significant wind from the right as you look at the photo. My plan is to possibly reduce very slightly or not at all - i'll decide when i get up there and have a look, but don't think it needs it really. But to thin quite heavily for a Beech, possibly up to 30%. My concerns are that thinning will stimulate more growth and ultimately make the situation worse and not return the tree to a 'less straggly' form. I expect ot be back there in a few years to continue shaping. What are the toughts from Arbtalk (sorry photo isn't very good only had my phone and it was dying - and i'm crap at photgraphy:blushing:).
  10. Thanks guys. Thats got me thinking. Sent from my GT-S5690 using Tapatalk 2
  11. Cheers. Are spares reasonable and are they easy to work on? Sent from my GT-S5690 using Tapatalk 2
  12. Hi, sorry for jumping in, but what are your thoughts on theA530di? I am considering one as my first chipper, so reliability and running cost are critical (not worried about wieght). I really like the sound of the Tps but this has come up. Thanks in advance. Sent from my GT-S5690 using Tapatalk 2
  13. Keep the tip sharpe makes things better. I mine at about 300 rpm i think (8-1000 rpm on a mf35) Sent from my GT-S5690 using Tapatalk 2

Brilliant, proper sunday tv. Sent from my GT-S5690 using Tapatalk 2
  15. This makes my blood boil. There is just no need for it, apart from to make a few pennies, and look at the potential costs. I dont think i can image where i live without ash trees. I would rather not have the work... Sent from my GT-S5690 using Tapatalk 2
  16. No one wants to but its your duty, you cant choose which bits you want to do. How will you find out what he knows if he's dead (among other reasons). Gotta remember it's counter insurgency we are fighting. Kill when you need to, otherwise don't. Of course there may be other circumstances to take into account... 17. Si1829, You've hit the nail on the head. Due process will take place and if there is no case to answer they will be free to serve or whatever. If they've broken the law they must face the music. I fully support our troops, but expect that they excercise the highest standards at all times regardless of rank and circumstances. So why should anyone think they should be freed when the evidence suggests otherwise? If a cartoon can cause riots and attacks imagine where this could go - just as we start to reduce our footprint. Having been on that tour, my view is simple: if there is no threat remaining you have to preserve life. Not saying i like it but that is what the mission requires. Would you sign a petition to release someone arrestedfor a serious crime in the UK, before due process has occured? Sent from my GT-S5690 using Tapatalk 2
  18. We're not talking Chinook or anything else with a jet engine. It's a piston engined 4 seater. I can't believe there is not regs on this. A wood will or could affect the air flow over the hls. Military pilots spend a lot of time training in airframes designed to operate at the edge of the safety envelope. A private pilot in a RB44 could come very unstuck very quickly. It will intetesting to see what you come up with... Sent from my GT-S5690 using Tapatalk 2
  19. Jo, I'm local to you and in a similar position. If anything comes my way i will let you know. If you want to talk this over give me a PM.
  20. Hi, anyone ever fitted a H14 to a series 2a? I've going to have a go at fitting soon and was wondering if there's any pit falls. It can off a defender so expect that the gearbox won't mate up and will need changing? Any advice appreciated. Cheers
  21. Hi anyone fitted a superwinch H14 to a series? If so are there any major problems apart making the steering heavier. Cheers in advance.
  22. Hi, sorry to hijack your thread, but I have the option of a H14 (off a LR 200) I have a couple of questions. Will it fit a s2a without too much drama, it comes with a winch bumper? Will the pto shaft fit? Will it be too heavy, I will change the wire for synthetic rope? Finally, the leaver to disengage the drive to pay out the rope has broken, does anyone know if it easy to remove so I can weld it back on? Thanks in advance for any advice.
  23. Judging by his 'professional' kit he probably hadn't got insurance, hence no claims! If that was my house he may have felt some shot through his tennis shoes...
  24. This is my favorite vehicle by far. And it is really cool (especially during the winter)! They are awesome off road, and British I have some better photos somewhere.
