  1. I looked at airstreams but went for Treemme Slide Stop Hicker (I think there called). Been really happy with them. Had them over a year not much sign off wear, but I also have another pair of lighter boots for when it's really hot. I've been impressed with the comfort and quality, I'd definitely get another pair.
  2. Our new Jack Russell puppy settling in well. Just collected her today a belated birthday present for my wife.
  3. Good point Hodge. I'll get one out on demo and have a really good look at it and all the trailer options. Mark
  4. I'm really interested in the ST8. Are there any issues running a tracked chipper when it's on a trailer (ifor tt105)? It just occurred to me that I'd probably leave it on the trailer for upto 30% of the time.
  5. Thanks Mc Chipps. I'll have ba look at that. The problem with the apps is that you still need to do method statements independently. The arb pro or whatever it's called is too expensive at the moment!
  6. Domestic tree surgery is classed as horticulture red is OK, but there are restrictions if are doing other types of work . doesn't mean you won't get hassle though...
  7. Makes sense! I'd better start doing some research.
  8. I think most of the time it will be used for spring tree surgery not forestry operations. So may be a 6 foot opening would do. What's the difference between a clamshell by Icker and forestry rotor? Got to go now the long hair business manager is giving me evil eyes because we have to go out and I just let the tractor and winch on the lawn😁 Thanks Mark
  9. Thanks Bob, are there any manufactures that are particularly good? As Billy says they don't come cheap and there dissent seen to many second hand ones around. Cheers Mark
  10. Hi all, my truck which is due soon is piped for a grab and rotor but I'm not sure what size or manufacture to go for. The crane capacity of 2.8t @ 4.5m and 2t @ 6.2m. My gut feeling is go big, but as I don't know a lot about these things thought I'd ask those who use them😀. Any thoughts? Cheers Mark
  11. Great news. Really need to get mine is been delayed as it's using a new clutch in. Lots of when we get the truck talk at lunchtime. .. Do you think it's worth waiting until my guys are handy with the crane before making a chip box or shall I just get on with it? Also did you put blosters inside your chip box? Cheers Mark
  12. Hi Billy, How long have you BBB been running your truck and what are your biggest lessons so far? I'm still waiting to pick mine up, can't wait, but need my class 1. Cheers Mark
  13. Thank you, I think I going to give it a go. Only one more question. How easy is it to take days from invoice to go and save it elsewhere (of you decide to change to an alternative system for example)? Many thanks Mark

    Driver CPC

Phew, not sure I could face doing that course right now😁 I agree with you Bob, but you'd have thought the doing writing chainsaws and chipper would give away what you do. But I know common sense won't be applied by those who are likely to stop me! Cheers Mark

    Driver CPC

My taking is that I won't need CPC as a tree surgeon (no log/chip sales or delivery). The gov website states: Vehicle uses where you don’t need Driver*CPC You don’t need Driver*CPC*if the vehicle you drive is: used to carry material or equipment you use for your job - but driving the vehicle can’t be the main part of your job. Hearing about you guys enduring this uninspiring, mindless drivel, is making me question my understanding. Have I got this wrong? Cheers Mark
  16. Can invoice to go be used on multiple platforms is, phone, tablet and computer? Cheers Mark
  17. 70 in a RB, that's proper brave, I bet the trainees shut up! Will definitely get some pictures up when I get it and as I modify it to suit my needs.
  18. Ha ha. That's a top 'max' speed of 55. I'll bet it do that often. Might need some puka speakers though.😀
  19. Not sure if mine 24v or not yet. Radio is mega important when it has a top speed of 55mph😁
  20. Rover, Cheers, that look just the job. Mark
  21. Hi Gray, A quick question. When fitted a radio to RB was there Amy issues with the vehicle being a 24v system? I will pick my truck up in a week and it will need a radio and LED warning lights. Cheers Markk
  22. Ha ha, sorry. I did think it was an odd name... I suppose I could blame predictive text.
  23. Bin lorry's aren't that expensive really, so there may be something in this. But as Old Man Tree Care says, what do you do with a large square of compressed brash?
  24. Luftwaffe, cheers. I'll have a look at the cranab specs and use that as a starting point. My lorry is a 18t rigid if it makes Amy difference. Thanks Mark
