  1. Im in Melbourne Australia steve thanks for the help
  2. All good the battery lasts a full day but how long does the Chain oil last? a great feature of a regular chainsaw is the fact it will run out of petrol before oil so you fill both at the same time no need to check oil, but surely with this you would have to check the oil as you went, then refilling it would either involve sending the saw and pack down unless its detachable? or getting a bottle of oil sent up to you possibly covering your rope in oil.
  3. Ahh cool hope its working well for you mate
  4. This is a photo of bens harness as he said the bridge is different now
  5. Are you sponsored by stein now Ian, in the similar vain as Reg is? just curious thats all?
  6. Well done guys, keep up the good work!
  7. Not sure mate check out there sales and special section, they do stock Metelious (i think thats how its spelt) haul packs which I have heard are very good.
  8. I got mine clearance from treestuff stupidly cheap, well worth the money IMO
  9. I have a black diamond stubby haul bag and love it it has nice straps that fold away for transit i managed to get a good deal on mine but as rupe said they can be expensive.
  10. Had to weight reduce and deadwood this mountain ash at a rope course for some scale that top plank is 50ft up, I had a hundred meter rope and had about 3 meters left on the ground when i hit the bottom easily 60meters to the tips oh and an oak dismantle from last week:001_smile:
  11. Because im that frickkin awesome haha i dont know really think i was a bit heavy on the descending when i first got it, it was creeping with a new clutch in it only thing i can think of
  12. I love my spiderJack i have worn the body out already though, so I'm waiting for a replacement to arrive, i went back to the hitchclimber and I much prefer the Sj.
  13. Rather than snatching the line towards your chest which is common in a Vt and micro pulley set up you need to feed the rope into the spiderjack a short bridge with long straights pulls will make it self tend a dream, thin rope is the way forward makes it work even better keeping the weight in the harness aswell rather than standing up on a limb then taking in slack as you go get the spiderjack to help pull you along.
  14. Download the Arborist knots App developed by Steve, its a very useful tool and will help you learn.
  15. Washing machine, soap flakes low temperature in a pillow case, dont use your own the missus or your mum wont be happy when the washing machine starts making funny noises. Start using a ring and ring cambium saver it will make your ropes last alot longer. I have heard butter helps gets it off, but when your mates ask you what your getting up to buttering my rope might sound a bit odd.
  16. It doesnt matter when your line i defelected it should still self tend my velocity falls through my spiderjack no matter what rope angle it has
  17. When are we getting the section on using the tail of your rope and the fattest groundie you can possibly find to hand hold everything? Or tip tying with a tag line and get the groundie to carry on pulling when its already snapped off defying gravity? And shouting at them when they haven't done it right and smashed something, useless groundies! The above is a joke and a great thread Adam good photos and very informative a nice change to some of the usual threads filled with people making remarks trying to sound funny.
  18. Idea as a lanyard adjuster would work better with thinner rope my poison Hi-vy is way to old and fluffy.
  19. I got 27 i struggled with the spelling on some though
  20. I like the fact it's simple but it is large, there isn't any thethers, neck elastic and it's a natural movement
  21. Think that's more rope access he's referring to when he says work eg window cleaning
  22. I am posting this link on behalf of Ben R its his friend i have no idea about the video so if you ask aq question im not likely able to answer it [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgEIJuZLjSg]Introducing the M-System.mpeg - YouTube[/ame]
  23. Since moving I find trees that I thought were big in the uk are pretty standard now I get more cautious when up monster trees, I climbed a 250ft (72m) Eucalyptus Regnans and It was cool but I was more cautious. Dead and dying trees over things like powerlines is what i'm most afraid of but what you imagine is normally worse than what it will actually turn out like.
