  1. Imori is good if you like something a bit fatter, a rope you should check out is Donaghys cougar blue it 11.7 mm super static and has a nice feel to it Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2
  2. Thats a bit like saying all shoes are the same or all cars are the same ropes can effect every aspect of a persons climbing and working day and like most things in the world its down to personal preference I prefer a thinner double braid. Your comment seems to have come from ignorance or slight annoyance at someone starting another thread regarding rope?
  3. Use some old hose pipe works okay just cut out an indent for the gaff and it should stay on fine Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2
  4. Alot of people are self taught mate download some instructions from samson and start learning, there are three guys i know on here from melbourne Onelab, Broady and Ben R that all splice so they might be able to help you out with something
  5. Light portable perfect!
  6. Which version of the Sugoi? i had one that was to small for my 420 one i think it was. The scabbard that comes with a clip on the front fits the larger sugoi have a look on ebay there are a few on there
  7. I need a 20 haha I love my 10 meter so handy for the smaller stuff Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2
  8. Where to begin I have a ten meter, 30 meter, 45 meter, 50 meter and a 100 meter, and I sold Ben my other 45 meter. I use my 50 majority of the time Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2
  9. The stitched one drew came up with would work alot better see Rope guide for the masses thread
  10. I don't understand why people are concerned with the X it leaves on your head, who in tree work worried about their appearance that, much haha as Rupe said I would rather look like a work at height professional than a power ranger. Sent from my GT-I8150T using Tapatalk 2
  11. I agree with Drew my tachyon feels completely different from the orange tachyon Sent from my GT-I8150T using Tapatalk 2
  12. O-rings used in plumbing work, you have to double them up but work well it's what use on my sawstrop I also use them to keep Jeans rigid on my harness Sent from my GT-I8150T using Tapatalk 2
  13. I was comparing the new petzl to the old one, not the Stein yeah the holes are pre-drilled but at least the petzl has the moulded slots which fit either peltor or sordin muffs rather than having to use adapters for sordins I can understand why people like the Stein but personally I don't Sent from my GT-I8150T using Tapatalk 2
  14. Nice rope, there are 2 types of tachyon the treuflberger version which I found less bouncy and harder to the touch where as I found the regular tachyon to be softer in hand but incredibly bouncy, don't know why they are different they just seem to be Sent from my GT-I8150T using Tapatalk 2
  15. It can often work out cheaper to buy a reel of tape sling and just make them as long or short as you want I buy stitched slings also for heavier duty work. Sent from my GT-I8150T using Tapatalk 2
  16. I have some tape sling which I beer knotted into an endless loop I use it for the odd thing here and there, a beer knot maintains 80% of the slings strength so I'm not particularly worried about it breaking in the situation that I use it in. Sent from my GT-I8150T using Tapatalk 2
  17. Wow glad no one was hurt mate, goes to show.
  18. The new petzl vent fits alot better than the old one and is no were near as hot as a stein and to me it is designed as a work helmet with pre made slots unlike the stein which has to have adapters drilled and screwed in place. Also on another note Non-mesh vizors are crap glasses are much better and will last longer.
  19. Here's some more from that mountain ash Sent from my GT-I8150T using Tapatalk 2
  20. I wouldn't say they are the coolest available but they are a good compromise between being tough and light, unlike other gladiators they aren't coated with the anti oil dirt repellent coating so it's more breathable they dry quick too it's rained for almost a week straight here
  21. I wear Gladiator ventilation they are 25% lighter than the cool versions don't have gators and have extra vents in the top if the to increase air flow I have worn them in 38 degrees and they we're good
  22. You can find it in sailing shops under the brand Robline which is owned by teuflberger if that's how it's spelt
