  1. brian missplaced our toolbox the other day in a woods and some thieving git picked it up what makes it worse is that it had is starting handle for the cab star in it as well
  2. well she is plated now for 100 ton so i recon we can do , i just worry about where we will put the tool box once its loaded bri:sneaky2: dont think we will need to strap any of the timber down tho do you ??
  3. buy the fooking lot bri
  4. great stuff bri mate , but a word of advice mate , dont tell then about the carving you did of the sydney oppera house , i dont think the tate could deal with all the added viewings ha ha
  5. if you need short term work then give cannon horticulture a call , i know it aint tree work but its a decent job with a decent employer , i used to be the area supervisor for plymouth and conwall and they looked after me throughout my time there as both area supervisor on the hort side and as teram leader on the tree surgery side , the only let down is that there is no tree team down here any more . sadly i dont have a number to hand but the guy for the plymouth area that you need to speak to is called Dean Braidy
  6. hes even better at loafs of bread ha ha ha
  7. i used to do alot of contracting to a compny called Fujitsu and they used the cis sytem and to be honest at first i was gutted as the extra money would have gone a long way towards kit but i realised that at the end of the tax year i had alredy paid off my tax bill and stiull had a bit to come back to me which took the worry out of paying a tax bill for sure ,
  8. Paul i have tried to help and given you names of companies and where possible the name of the person you need to speak to , take for instance silvanus - they are currently using a team that usually wors down in mid cornwall to cover the tree cutting on a wpd contract in plymouth because they are so short staffed , i am not in any way trying to put you down at all im trying to help you out !! i would not hessitate in saying what i think paul , but if you feel that im putting you down then its your problem mate i was actually trying to explain that sometimes it does not look good when you have worked for several different companies in the same area in a short space of time , yes you have done some jobbing work for companies but you started this thread talking about employment not subby work .
  9. alot of what drives these people is drugs , like it or not there is no excuse for it , i am sick of hearing how elderly members of the community have been mugged, had there houses broken into and left spending the resto of their life in feart that the thieving drugtaking little scrote may cum back for another go just so that he has enough Money to score from his dealer who in most cases will be more than happy to accept money that has come from such circumstances - i openly have no time for it full stop , its about time people stopped being ultra sensitive and accepted that the softly softly approach that has been being attempted for so long now is not working and that a tougher stance is required. As for minorities i9 think you will find that the decent honest hard working members of socioty are now the minority in this country
  10. to be honest paul i would not be to haisty on getting your name around because you have worked for several companies in a shor time , i would be inclined to take my time and get the right job and then concentrate on building your skills as a climber and getting your name about for being a decant hardworking guy that climbs well as well , I personally am quite scepticle when guys come to me that have worked for ghod knows how many people in a relativley short time scale . but this is only my oppinion and hope all goes well for you
  11. Paul to be honest i think you will be hard pushed to get a job with a smaller company in the plymouth area , and to be honest if you can get a job with a bigger company i would do it and get some decent experience under your belt , another place you could try is the citty council as they have there own tree teams
  12. keep posting mate any pictures of you doing any doughnuts in the ford are there
  13. chavs are certainly not a minority down here in cornwall i saw a pensioner walking towards tommers house the other day wearing a pair on nike air max trainers(pure white) , Adidas trackies which were halfway down his arse to display his Burbery tarten boxers , a lecost polo shirt , and Kappa trackie top on !!!! oh and listening to a bit of fifty pence. To be honest i was not to sure weather it was DangerousBrian or not ha ha
  14. verry true huck , do you know if he got his money in the end ?
  15. will pm you
  16. maybe try giving Nick Courtyer a call , you may well know hin he has a log business on the Newton to Ipplepen road , i know he is usually looking for timber but sadly i dont have his number .
  17. tell you what i have a spare set of bashlins light alloy spikes , £100 and they are yours mate , i wasnt going to sell them but hey whats the point in having two sets of spikes
  18. ooops , hope he has got his money tho lmao
  19. Great stuff glad to hear you have got your landy back , was it danaged at all ?
  20. i would pop in and see your solicitor or a debt colection company and use them to get your money , i would NOT contact the client of have any comunications with them what so ever as this may well cause trouble getting the money for you . i think you will find thats it is an offence to cancel a cheque without having good reason to do so . does the client have any cause to do this an anyway what so ever and did you have an agrement of even a writen quotation ??
  21. personally i would go for a set of light alloy bashli spikes , i have not tried the Geco spikes but can assure you that the light alloy bashlin spikes are as goo as it gets and extreamyl comfortable and will last you a blooby long time
  22. when i firs started out i used to hire a 6 inch green mech (which was pants) but it got me started and did what i needed but after a while it started breaking down an awfull lot so i went into the hewden hire branch that i had it on hire from and had a chat with the manager and he said he would see what he would do about getting something better seeing as i had it on contant hire , so about a week later i went in to pay my account and the manager told me that they had ordered a brand new Timber Wolf for me to hire but it would cost me another £65 a week = 250 per week inc vat so i agreed to hire it long term , so 7 days later they call me to tell me that the chipper is there and ready to pick up so i poped in on my way home to swap chippers over , but to my supprise i found that it was not the 150 that i was expecting it was the 190 !! so i signed the paper work and off i went . A few weeks later the manager called me to tell me that things may be changing as Speedy Hire had just bought Hewden Hire out and that they may be getting rid of the chipper as they do not hire anything bigger than a 6 inch chippers so i asked him to put a word in for me and to see if they would sell it to me , a few months later after Speedy had bought out Hewdens i got a call asking if i would still like to buy the chipper , i agreed that i did so it was offered to me for £8000 and only just over six months old - an offer i could not turn down so i bought the chipper . I think the hire only worked out for me in the end because i got a vbloody good chipper out of it for next to nothing but had it not been for that then i think i would of had to call it a day in the end . i look back now and ask myself would i spend £50 a day on chippper hire and the answer is not however it dod get me started so i cant complain to be honest
  23. i wish i had known you wanted a kids rock climbing harness tommer , i have a DMM kids harness that i got when a bought a load of rock climbing gerar for an instructor
  24. some great points there tommer , im still really not sure what to do , i think the ranger will have the winch fitted and thats it , lets face it , it is what it is and does verry well , i have realised recently that it aint up for being loaded to the max every day but it is good off road and great when im called out for western power and i need to get me brian and a shed load of kit miles accross fields .
