  1. that is one of the verry first chippers of that kind , when green mech were testing it out and sending out for firms to use so that they could get some feed back they painted it yellow and it would not of had any stickers on either , they do this with every chipper they bring out , bet who ever owns that one got it dirt cheep

  5. yeah i will post pics as soon as i pick it up
  6. im still really happy with our tw190 , i have found that the green mech is not the tidyest of chippers , it spits a fair bit back at you and is a pain in the arse to get all the chip into the truck
  7. i never thought it would happen but it has lol , well lets be honest at less then 2k for a decent condition landy i cant complain , only 2 pros are that the blower dont work and there is a little rust on the N/S of the bulk head just under the vent , but hey who cares its cheep
  8. sorry to ruin the thread but thought i would ask how you get on with the 10 inch green mech ?? only asking as i have just had a road tow version dropped down to me on hire untill i get my timber wolf running again

  10. i gave doug a call and spoke to one of the fitters but to my supprise they have never worked on a 190 !!! looks like it may well have to go to the new dealers in cornwall - holt jcb but then again i did call them yesterday and they have not evebn had the decentcy to call me back to get it booked in

  12. i could well be interested as it seems i may well have bought a 110 high cap landy on a j plate
  13. the problem with the nfu is that they have several offices regionaly and each office makes decisions on what they will or will not do for you insurance wise but when it comes to a claim there is only one office that deals with the claim , in my mates case he had some kit stolen , the local office said that they would cover it but claims said no , in the end they met half way but still not good
  14. hiya im really hoping you can hepl me out . we were using out 190 yeasterday on site all morning when suddenly the chipper sounded like it has stalled while we were chipping, at the same time a cloud of whitey bluey smoke came from the engine box and it smelt like burnt belts , then it started to pick up again but the whole machine was then vibrating realy badly , i have looked at the engine and all looks to be ok , the engine still sounds sweet when we started it up , but there is still alot of vibration and a mettaly sound . any ideas as to what it could be ?? i was guessing that as the chipper has not done a tought 650 hours that it may well be the bearings gone . if so is are the parts costly and with a moderate ammount of mechanicle knowlege could a do the repair my self ?? many thanks Dave @ combined tree services 07790206316
  15. cheers for the advice chaps , i think i will have a look to see if it is the bearings tomorrow after work , but for now i will have a look for the timberwolf help bit on here lol
  16. correct but one of the "rules" is that headlights must be aligned correctly and secured in place , they should also be in a servicable condition ! i dont think that abletying them in the wrong position would pass an mot - well i have thats according to the mot inspector at the dealership anyway .
  17. 6 months is a long time but in fairnes the problems only came to light when the vehicle was taken into a ford dealership , i had already had problems within the first month and the chap was not willing to sort it out then , thankfull i have kept all the pm's from him and to him on here , i would not normally go this far but surly when it becomes clear that the work he carried out was sub standard and has now resulted in the truck becoming dangerous then something has to be done ??
  18. hiya chaps , we were using our tw190 yesterday all morning just like normall when suddenly the chipper sounded like it had stalled and a puff of bluey white rubbery smelling smoke came from around the engine bay (not from the exaust) then the chipper started to speed back up to working speed but now there is a really bad vabration that causes the chipper to nearly bounce off of the tyres , i have looked to see if something has been fed in that should not have been and the answer is no , the belts are all ok and tensioned , mechanicly the engine seems to be fine oh and there is no sign of dammage to any of the fans on the back of the flywheel and no dammage to the flywheel its self . i can only think that the flywheel bearings have gone , if so is it a big job to do ?? i was looking at trying to do the work our selves but not sure if thats possible . your advice would be greatly appreciated:thumbup:
  19. if i were you i would put it in an envelope address it to him and stick it in the post box minus the stamp lol

  21. thats inflation for you mate , glad you got to the bottom of it though , and without to much expense:thumbup:
  22. i realy hope it does not have to go that far too , but its now going to be left in the habds of vosa , i just realy hope that who ever did the mot was not a friend or member of family to the guy who sold it to me .
  23. ebay mate thats where i got mine from , i think i looked under Denso hi torque starter
  24. great job john , i would rather you than me !! i trust you were taking the pictures and overseeing opperations lol
  25. thanks for the replies guys , the truck is being inspected by V.O.S.A within the next two weeks , it went in for an mot inspection and the guy was amazed it managed to get an mot just before i bought it as the head lights have been cable tied in , when they changed the wing they simply cut the old one off with a grinder and welded the new one on to what was left , the eletricks were bodged and as i said in my first post the welds are now breaking on the tipper chassis !! oh and to make it worse it was actually sold to me by a fellow Arbtalker
