  1. work also supplied dangerous brian with a transit tipper that they thought was bullet proof - well it was till he started using it for his own work , ha ha it did more of his own work than it did for the people he worked for , the finnishing touch if im right was about 9 tons of pine in a cemetery in 3 loads !!!!!!
  2. i would give it a go cutting logs where it is , if women can iron in front of the telly what stops you cutting logs ??? , dangerous brian is a fine one to talk about keeping the missus sweet , you wanna see it out side his place , its like a loggers camp, oh appart from the fiat multipla but hey nice saw horse mate
  3. glad you cant make p tomorrow mate its all mine ha ha , i am happy installing it but cant get the retrival bit sorted ha ha but does not really matter as i will be moving it throughout the day . the only off put is the fact that its fooking hot where we are working , lol but hey i will enjoy it never the less .
  4. where the other 2 beech diseased at all ie any evidence of fungal fruiting bobbies ?? im not sure wether it is posible for the glyphosate has traveled through mycelium ??? just a thought , hope you get to the bottom of it
  5. cheers mate , i would not leave home without the art gear anymore lol , have you seen the attached document from drewb ?? do you have any ideas how to set it up with the retreval bit included (section 5 on the attached doccument )
  6. i fanny about using one because i had the balls to give it a try and really get on with it you should try it and se how much easyer and faster it makes big tree work . putting it up is easy but the complication comes when i try to add the removal side of it , the directions that were posted by brewb are a bit hard to follow (section 5) yeah we start the take down tomorrow tommer mate and really looking forward to it . hows things with you

  8. thanks drewb the only bit i dont quite get is step 5 where abouts does the little harp go ??? and does it matter which end of your line goes through the pulley ??? but thanks again for that im now off to try it ready for tomorrow on a 120 foot pine lol

  11. true true and to be honest the only use our mewp gets is powerline clearence and we dont do much of that now , handy bit of kit to have tho but from my own point of view i would rather climb , you know where you are with a climbing rope and all the art gear you can shake a big stick at
  12. i have my liability insurance with trust and really highly reccomend them , my insurance includes green zone raily way work , utility cutting and professional indemnity cover , it costs me 5.5 k a year but it all depends on turn over , type of work etc etc , phone trust and talk to cammeron

  14. that looks like a great bit of kit , i currently have an ex bt mewp on the back of a 7.5 ton daf it does what we need but would love something like that landy , who fancies guessing how much it sells for ??

  16. forget the log splitter mate get tht boy jordan splitting it with a good old axe , thats what the rest of us had to do when it came to logs when we were training lol

  20. we will be cuting the main stem into 9 inch rings because they will weigh roughly one ton at that size lol whilst in the tre i aim to cut it as big as the crane driver will lift , but with the lack of access for him i boubt it will be that much
  21. go for a lock jack shrek i did and wont be going to hitches pluss the art rope guide really comes into its own with the lock jack , i aint tried the spider jack yet , anyone used both lock jack and spider jack ?? what are your thoughts
  22. i hope that the groundie can use a cammera better than ahe uses a chainsaw ha ha will be posting plenty of pics i hope , i got the ok today crom the crane company to bring in a 60 ton crane on the thurs , but should only be using it for the top and to move all the timber and by the end of it my fingers will probably be falling of with havs ha ha ha ha strole on

  24. i guess there will be around 50 cuts with the 880 while in the tree and probably another 100 on the ground (at a guess) . the pine is nearly 9 foot accros at the base and even wider at about 35 foot ?? hope mr hse aint in the area lol if he is he can come and have an insight into our world
  25. im using stihl hand held blowers and cant fault them to be honest . we also have a back pack blower we use for bigger jobs and thats also a stihl , im told the new blowers that stihl do are meant to be even better
