  1. thanks chaps , looks like its lock jack and foot ascender , i may look int the srt system at some point . i think one at the top i would still change over to lock jack and friction saver so would end up carrying even more kit imo
  2. great job mate , sadly we dont get many like that down here in cornwall
  3. i was impressed by the rope walker system , i am thinking of looking into using a foot ascender and hand ascender with a lock jack , with a bit of luck it will work in much the same way . anyone tried it before ??
  4. yeah sounds like a good idea andy , any way there is always jonesie's show to meet up . where abouts is it being held ??
  5. i meant a propper effort josharb i met andy who then pointed out some of you chaps to me but how about advretising AT more and getting more guys from the trade on here ???
  6. what were your thoughts on the srt system that tree worker were demonstrating bob ???? the guy semed to have alot of kit hanging from his harness i personally could not see it being practical having all that getting in the way
  7. good call khriss !!!! as long as he offers it to AT members at a redued price first
  8. im with john and andy on this one , i drove up from cornwall yesterday , i didnt go to any of the workshops such as the AAAC aplication workshop because i only had a limited amount of time , next year a wanna camp up there and have plenty of time . also i keep reading that alot of people never got time to meet up with each other from AT so why not next year can we not get a stand sorted maybe reight next to jonesie's ??? or an AT camping area ???
  9. i went up looking for lots of kit but ended going home with £1500 left to spend !! was god to see a few of you but wish i had more time to chat . where is jonesie's arb show too ??? oh and didnt bump into SWB yesterday i guess he was still nursing a hang over ha ha
  10. one of my chaps bought a pair 4 months ago , they have split , a few of the laicing eyelets have come of and the sole has just started to come away from the boot , i would expect this from someone wearing them 6 days a week but he has only been wearing them 3 days a week as he was at college . thankfully he has seen sence and gone for the mendel airstreams
  11. congrats mate hope your all good and well
  12. they are ok i guess but depends on the type of tree work your doing , i do alot of LA work and the bigger end of domestic works so i have a slightly larger timberwolf but for smaller private work , line clearence work etc they are not too bad
  13. i have the tw 190 non turbo and yes it is well worth doing , i was quoted £14500 at the aa show yesterday from lister wilder , may be worth giving them a call but yeah now i have had a 190 i would never ever use a smaller chiper
  14. yeah lets have some pics of un climbable trees , that should get this topic fired up again ha ha
  15. forget tha ambulance i would much rather a pint ha ha ha .
  16. if its new is it an ms660 ??? only asking because i have heard of alot of fakes being sold at the moment and they are labeled as a stihl 66 0r ms66
  17. not alot mate , i would not pay any more than £1100
  18. i would wait and get a newer chipper where parts are more common , if you hang on a few weeks tere may be a load of jensen chippers being sold by fountains as i was told by mike at the green mech stand today thatfountains have just placed an order with them for arround 28 new chipers. may be worth a try , failing that keep looking on earborist , there is normally a bargaint to be had on there
  19. i thought it was a bit smaller than last year , i went with the intention of buying the new skylotec that was meant to be out but there was only one harness tht could not be sold to me because of thelack of a ce and it is the only one in the country, gutted !!!
  20. who did the QTRA for that pine ha ha glad i didnt park under it
  21. i bought a stein hat with peltor ear defenders and was not impressed with the 4 self tapping screws to screw the ear defenders on with tbh , and to make it eeven worse i bought a pair of strech air trousers and the stitching looks really dodgy . any way it was great to meet some of you today , role on the next get together
  22. yeah i saw it and thought it was a cunning publicity stunt , should have got my scooby sign writen ha ha
  23. im glad to hear they are still in god spirits as im driving up from the far end of cornwall early tomorrow ! hope you have all left me some goodies to buy
  24. i think when people say outdated they really mean not what they prefer , i was told my method of climbing on a prussik was outdated but it has its place , i dont see the point in using my lock jack on a 30 foot tree tbh . neither can i be bothered to tie anything more that a prussik for a small job lol
  25. but as my LA found out when trying to use the hedgerow legislation the question brought up by the TREE/HEDGEROW owners legal representation was - when or how do you distinguish betwene a hedgerow ond a group of trees ? they felt that because the trees had been allowed to grow without being trimmed etc that they were there fore a stand of trees thus meaning that they were not included under the act and that they would not be made to cut them back or keep them as a hedge . the outcum was that the LA backed down !
