  1. I just can't believe this guy has been living in the woods half a mile from my front door... makes you feel sick. Having read alot of the rubbish spouted on his Facebook page - Hubert Noditza | Facebook you have to come to the conclusion that he's disturbed, sick, mentally ill etc... A total nut job. It's my understanding that he is now back in the village Matt
  2. Maybe i'll make you a video! For what it's worth - I will try your method, but not on a big tree. This technique of yours is an accident waiting to happen IMO. You say that it is 'tricky' to adjust the ammount of wood to leave up top... that in itself is a recipie for disaster for anybody attempting to do this cut that hasn't got much experience.. Like I originally said, I would be resorting to traditional, proven, SAFE methods that don't leave anything to chance or guesswork. Especially with a larger stem.
  3. A good solution to this would be to ballast the front tyres, or look at having the front axle weighted
  4. Nice vid, like the explanation... Why would you not just treat it as a normal windblown tree and adopt a much more basic approach to dealing with it?? I would have put three cuts into the top side of the tree at about an inch and a half apart extending to one third of the way through the trunk, and then stroked one cut in the middle of the three cuts on the underside and let her down in my own time, controlled and safely. Failing that I would be looking at a step cut off the butt. The video shows a tree collapsing using your method which effectivley relies on a barber chair effect to slow the tree down - this could be really dangerous depending on the timber. But it's a method i've never tried before - will give it a go when I next come across a windblown tree and see how it does..
  5. I was going to start chanting Milf Milf Milf, but no matter how much I try, I just cant bring myself to do it!
  6. Yeah right... i'd like to know where.. !!
  7. That's an interesting chainsaw attachment! How does it work??
  8. Planer It's a type of planer Stevie.... search google for Log Wizzard planers
  9. If you are struggling to get rid of it.... drop me a PM - I may have a market for it. Cheers Matt
  10. I would suggest you should get up from your desk, get out and find some more contracts and more clients as there is plenty of work about if you look for it in the right places!
  11. No Comment !!
  12. No photos on the website???
  13. Had an L200...... cost me thousands!! Literally thousands and eventually got fed up wit it and bought a new ford ranger.... hassle free motoring ever since!
  14. I'd be giving him a price per tonne, and having a lorry take it to the stack site, and getting a weight ticket from the crane on the lorry. I take it he is wanting to pay per tonne and is working it out that if you have 100m3 it will weigh roughly 50t. Failing that let another contractor do the job or you're about to get shafted big time!
  15. Where about's have you booked???
  16. Filmed on an estate just down the road from me.... beautiful mate!
  17. And I thought the forest roads around here were bad.... pah! Here's another russian one: !
  18. Sorry to hear that mate... Hope the op goes well and a full recovery will be on the cards. Very decent of you to highlight this on here.... I'm off to get me nuts out..
  19. That's awesome Tommy! A creature of the woods...
  20. Yep, we've got companies that pay on 30, 60 and 90 days.... pain in the arse. The worst is when you have wood on the roadside that you are due a price per tonne, and then the client takes 3 months to clear a job by which time you have lost weight in the wood and then they take 30 days to process weight tickets ontop of that! insult after insult for what is essentially a very costly business to be in.
  21. Ha! Aint that the truth!! Try sleeping at night when you are owed 92k!
  22. Thanks for all the replies and all the e-mails. As stated in the add, we set a closing date of 6th September which allowed plenty of time to recieve applications. Thank you to everyone who sent in applications, and I look forward to speaking to some of you very soon. I can only apologise to those who have tried to call me - The add states application by e-mail with CV and Covering letter and I simply haven't had enough time the last couple of weeks to take calls every day as we have been working very hard to achieve a set deadline for a current project. Regards, Matt
  23. Not a chance they'll get a penny from me!! I've spent a fortune this year on buying kit so my tax bill will be pretty low I hope! I just cant believe they can make such a cock up.... its one thing after another with this country and our governments.... useless the lot of them.
  24. Personally I think the HMRC should hold thier hands up and absorb the mistake internally with budget cuts rather than looking to get the defficite back from tax payers. I mean, honestly, who the hell do the people that run this country think they are.... its nothing these days but insult after insult. We're too soft as a society... we might as well be living as a communist state, or should I say we are living in a communist state.
  25. Atkinson Vos or AC price... I've been buying spares for my MB from my local Mercedes truck centre in Inverness - they can get pretty much anything, all diagrams on the computer etc.
