  1. We've about 700t cut in total now... just need to get it all to roadside!
  2. After a few requests, I thought I had better get round to putting up some pics of the MB earning her keep! The next site is being cut at the moment..
  3. Not sure of the market in you're area but I would be asking £35 a ton at roadside and let the customer organise their own haulage..
  4. thats some thought provoking stuff Stevie.... will have to listen to the others later
  5. hmmm P.O.S
  6. There's not much you can do mate unless you meet up with them.. As it's all verbal it's a game of tit for tat.. You could possibly explain that thier lovley looking birch tree will be a good addition to you're firewood pile if they dont pay as agreed?? I know that's not the best option, but birch and cherry are lovley burning wood You could also explain that if they wont pay for the works, they can have all thier chip/brash/arisings back and dump the lot on their front door step?
  7. mmmmmm bandit. me like, drool... The tracked bandits look awesome, I have spent far too much time on youtube looking at bandits.. but as with the vermeer, they're not variable track
  8. Yep, all good chippers.. What i'm after is find the best all rounder... big tree eaters are fine but not versatile enough to work in oddball places.
  9. True enough.. I have seen 35t excavators with big mulching heads and massive donkey engines working on incredibly boggy sites though... bogmaster tracks seem essential!
  10. Just been looking through the spec for that machine.... WOW. The winch is a fantastic idea being top mounted instead of after market and the remote control is also a great idea, saving the operator from having to stand on the actual machine. Such a shame it's not on variable tracks.. over 100fpm infeed though, quite impressive.
  11. The shliesing's are supposed to be incredible machines, never used one, never seen one but I have also heard they are an incredible price too!
  12. I know they have just bought out a new version of the 19-28 with a few added extras and improvements, but it would be great to see the 19-28 remade as a slightly bigger machine, perhaps with a 100hp engine and 10 inch capacity
  13. hahah!! ok, I'll keep that in mind Mike!
  14. Never heard of them CTS ??? Google here I come..
  15. I've yet to find a chipper that likes ballast... something about it they just dont like at all. I've never used a shleising either.. have heard good rumours though. I have it on good authority that timberwolf are bringing out a new tracked chipper in the not too distant future with a nice large capacity.. will be interesting to see it when it hits the market. I wonder what the larger Greenmech, the 220 is like..
  16. OK, without wanting to open a massive can of worms here, and looking for constructive views, can anyone comment on 'the best all round' tracked chipper for production/clearance work? We have a Greenmech 19-28 Mk1 Safetrak which we find very good apart from the maintenance, and have used Jensens and Timberwolf of a similar size but we're starting to think more about throughput and capacity as well as versatility for working on very rough ground, boggy sites, steep slopes etc Can anyone recommend any of the lesser known makes of chipper? For example, has anybody got any experience with the Schliesing 300MX Crawler?? Any thoughts welcome, Matt
  17. I was under the impression that voles were a protected species?? I'd maybe take some advice from your local council before putting traps down.
  18. Alaska, Oregon or Australia for me I think... big tree territory. Failing that, the Scottish Highlands takes some beating
  19. All my firewood goes out by the arctic load in lengths
  20. I can recommend Chris White - Cut Above Tree Services, based near Linlithgow I think Jamie
  21. Brilliant, congratulations Steve! Happy birthday to Arbtalk !
  22. I have to agree with that... the competition side of things is not an issue for me either, however the sfaety issue raises an eyebrow!
  23. Better still, team up with a decent, qualified, reputable loacal arb contractor and save yourself a trip to A & E...
  24. Are you having a laugh?? Clearly you had better seek professional training before you do anything with you're harness!! I can not believe this is a serious question
