  1. I think it may extend as after trawling google images I've found the same crane looking like it has two extensions in the same arrangement, will have to take off the grab pipe and see what happens. WM Tree Services http://www.bestkenttreesurgeons.co.uk
  2. Can someone tell me if this is a 2nd extension on my crane that currently locked out with a pin, or possibly a manual extension? Currently just the end one comes out and that maxes out the hoses for the grab, but that looks like it has 2 extensions to me. Just looking for some guidance before I go pulling the pin to see what happens! WM Tree Services http://www.bestkenttreesurgeons.co.uk
  3. My Cargo only has 21.5t train weight. Not equipped for draw bar
  4. I paid around 6 for mine which is more or less the same as peters. I'm 26 and employees are slightly younger but the trainings a a one off expense so I'm not too worried. To train two guys and get the O license would probably set you back in the region of £4k.

    salary review

£9 and hour is £20-25k 18900+ 30% = £24570 and that's not even on including the employers NI contributions which will be another £3k or so. Imo the OP is on an excellent rate, especially with all the training he's had.
  6. Wish my girlfriend understood that! I've been getting it in the neck ' no other tree firms round here have a truck like that, it can't be a good idea.....' We'll see!
  7. I'll be calling IMS in the next few days as I want to have bolsters a chip body and to be able to run it as it is as a grab which shouldn't be too hard to achieve. Will be a few weeks before she can work got my theory test tomorrow! It's 18ton crane can do 3.9 up close and just shy of a ton at full reach which is about 6m I think
  8. Just collected this, can't wait to get started on it !
  9. Any chance of a close up of the bolster sockets? WM Tree Services http://www.bestkenttreesurgeons.co.uk
  10. Will that be removable so you can still for bolsters for logs, or one body for everything ? Mines currently got a dropside body with crane behind the cab and I was thinking along the lines of a chip box I can crane on and off then some removable bolsters for whole loads of logs WM Tree Services http://www.bestkenttreesurgeons.co.uk
  11. Got any fresh pictures with the new chip box in action etc? Just bought a very similar trucks and figuring out how to build the body.
  12. In my experience of the process they aren't, however as I'm sure your well aware different TCs do things differently. Where I love they are very black and white and have little flexibility.
  13. No, the tc will just refuse it, clearly.
  14. An I license covers any size, they don't fifer estimate between class 1 or 2 vehicles
  15. I presume that's the form for the I trim licence. My guy says in London and southeast they are rarely granted but in other areas it can see you up and running in a few weeks. Surely the truck can be insured for personal use like a car without the o license. As you can still keep it and drive it without one as long as it's not loaded.
  16. Nice one. My advice would be pay someone to do it, the guy I used only charges £250 to do the lot, it's a very long form and they like everything to be just so. I've applied for a 3 vehicle license as they last 5 years and making a change mid term incurs similar costs to applying for a new license so think ahead in terms of how many you may need. Also I've had a bit of hassel with my financial documents as the account is in my trading name rather than my own name, and have had to send extra documentation to prove it is my account. Now where's the pictures of your lorry? The 3 month processing period will give you ample time to get it built and sign written too! WM Tree Services http://www.bestkenttreesurgeons.co.uk
  17. After speaking to the guys who will do my maintenance apparently the little jap 7.5 toners are a nightmare to get parts for and very dear, also not great to drive loaded so they've told me to get an 18 tonner due to the minaj size difference between 7.5 and 18 when they're all built like a proper lorry. the Iveco super cargos are looking good there's a few local with some serious hiabs on them too and hey seem to sell for peanuts. WM Tree Services http://www.bestkenttreesurgeons.co.uk
  18. As Rovers 90 says above most SE declare barely anything them want a mortgage on their promise of "but really in earn another 30k on top of that in cash" or similar, that's worthless. Providing you are trading profitably and making good money consistently if you declare it it shouldn't be too hard to get a mortgage I got my first last year and. It was pretty straight forward, worst part was the condescending financial advisors assuming they can talk down to ' a simple tree cutter' about turnover net profit and asking if I was confused between the two! WM Tree Services http://www.bestkenttreesurgeons.co.uk
  19. Good point regarding EGTs, pyrometers to measure them are pretty essential if you want to push the performance and work the engine hard. WM Tree Services http://www.bestkenttreesurgeons.co.uk
  20. Any company not registered for VAT if they're half sensible should be charging as much as their VAT registered counterparts just because they can. WM Tree Services http://www.bestkenttreesurgeons.co.uk
  21. Get a big pulley and rope and just rig it down, it's very easy as long as your confident in your kit. WM Tree Services http://www.bestkenttreesurgeons.co.uk
  22. Best desk I've seen was thorough the FSB £15 a month for mobile terminal 30p for a debit card 1.5 or 2% on credit card. Bit seems hard to justify when it's easy to get paid by cheque, cash or BACS
  23. To answer most questions. I want what I believe most of us want a good site with easy to read information that makes it easy for people to call me for a quote. I want SEO as I want to rank highly on the natural listings in order to get more calls and more money, don't need e commerce or any of that. From what I know bespoke sites rather than templates rank higher on google as well as sites with constant fresh content. So my question is how much for a pro built bespoke site maybe 5-10 pages and some SEO, even better can anyone recommend a company who is doing good SEO for them at present? WM Tree Services http://www.bestkenttreesurgeons.co.uk
  24. I've been stung before on this by Weberr on here, and their site had just expired but I don't appear to be able to buy it back so I need to get another built so what sort of money should I be looking to pay to have a proper bespoke site built ? And also pricing for ongoing SEO? WM Tree Services http://www.bestkenttreesurgeons.co.uk
  25. Had similar ordeal with ufindalocal signed me up for 18 months for £150 ish then after about 11 months received a moody call saying my rolling renewal had. One up but the price for renewal was £2500, or if I paid instantly 'only' £1500, and of course they didn't generate a single job for me in that year. Anyway CAB couldn't help in the end after trawling the small print I needed to give 3 months notice and as I'd haggled for an 18 month contract for the price of 12 I still had time to cancel, however upon telling them this they still tried it on. A lucky escape. WM Tree Services http://www.bestkenttreesurgeons.co.uk
