  1. Few the boys im working with at the moment have airstreams and with my first winter coming up in sweden will probably get some.I have mendl wood walkers at the moment and they are pretty good. You can't beat a pair of comfortable waterproof boots that provide good ankle support.I don't mind paying for them, dam i would spend 3 times as much on a new surfboard. To be honest i don't miss the wet days in nz tipping my boots upside down to get the water out at the end of the day.
  2. Kiwi here living in scotland work the winter in a tee shirt no probs,no thin skin. The whole kiwi,oz,brit thing is crazy ive seen all doing stupid things in trees and on the ground don't think it matters where your from.Either you choose to wear protection or not.In Nz i didn't in britian i do.
  3. Think if you searched up local tree surgeons in the area and asked around would be best, don't think there's to many on here from around Perthshire although i could be wrong.I worked in and around dundee for a few years and there a re a few outfits around ,mostly small guys.
  4. We had about 5 new 560's two of them blew up and the others had to be sent back,Am now working with a guy in sweden that is on his third one in a week.Don't know if this has been rectified.Mechanic in local husq dealer warned me off 5 series husq's apparently having lots of problems.
  5. I have used about 5 and they have all been shite. You should not have to mod a brand new saw to get it to cut half decent.Very dissapointed with stihl on this saw regardless of needing to meet emission standards.
  6. Re video,if your cutting like that you shouldn't be climbing period.
  7. 3 strand hemp and an old prussic does wonders, cheap as chips, and if your need of a smoke up the tree!?bob's your uncle!
  8. Would be cool if we were all walking around in body armour! mad max anyone?
  9. Not sure if many of you have heard but a fellow tree worker/arborist was killed up my way in st andrews on saturday around 10am,names have not been released yet as i think the police and or HSE are still investigating.Apparently the guy was felling a tree and has died form head injuries,Im praying its not my old next door neigbour that i still surf with as he has a great family. JUst a reminder to everyone to keep safe!!!!! Guys name is norman robertson who was 67.Heart goes out to his family.
