I have looked at other point of views and i hear what your saying,but i still don't think the money is enough,which is my point of view. Britain has to be the lowest payed wages in this industry that ive seen,yet this recession is affecting so many country's yet alot are still paying better wages,sorry i just can't get my head around it.

Doing it already mate,I never said i was eaning £9 hour i just dont agree with the going rate,can just get by on that,not get ahead,kept at the bread line!

It's people saying 9quid an hour is fair that are the problem,Dam i worked in an arb squad in a council and got paid over 10quid and hour,and as you would imagine it ain't a hard job in the council.I don't get it!

Sorry i can't remember if i said highly skilled i think i said skilled.I bet most doctors etc.. could not do what i do,simple and it goes the other way,Funnily enough i have just started being a subbie and am earning three times the amount i was as employed.I just can't understand when people say there are no jobs around,pish there's loads most people are to lazy to get out there comfort zone,dam there's 102 jobs just on arbjobs alone! I think it takes as much training as a builder,electrician to be experienced and skillfull in our enviroment!

Why as skilled Arborists/tree surgeons/foresters are we so poorly payed? Nearly all the jobs i see advertised have very poor pay rates?Company's looking for employee's with every ticket under the sun and want to pay them £8-9 an hour.I think we have a very skilled dangerous profession,yet are very rarely rewarded for it. Im sure this thread has come up many times before but thought i would address it again. Opinion's? Thoughts?

Well 8 weeks ago i worked for a council,had a look on arbjobs liked the look of a job on arbjobs in sweden,moved from scotland to sweden after a couple of phone calls and emails then im here,rest is history.Almost as easy as that.Find a job and go for it!

Im buying some new ones next week and will have a pair of bashlins that i could possibly sell on.The current contract im on requires them pretty much all day everday so am investing in some new ones.

Where im working now a feller had 3 in one week two blew up,my last job we had 2 seize and 2 that were almost impossible to start,all saws brand new.Maybe a bad batch? Husky dealer told me to stay away from 5 series.

Try arbjobs mate if you can travel or relocate they have 94 jobs on there at the moment!

Yeah ive come over to Sweden for a contract which is pretty easy and decent money,although hard being away from the family.I used to work for a company called trees plus up in inveralmond estate and i know he used subbies from time to time could give him a ring.
