  19. capel is capel manor college and the apprentice of the year is in all industries, and also has a section for employer of the year.
  20. the tarmac and brick path is very close to the base of the tree, and the crack in the bark originates from where the tree meets the pathway, could this be a sign of root impaction? im just a newbie so only speculating.
  21. it just seems to me like its geared more towards bigger industry, i only work for a very small company. and im not that good either hehe i dont even know if capel have asked anyone else, they probably have but they couldnt be arsed to do the form, fingers crossed anyway, i have to get my manager or the gaffer to do me a really good endorsement.
  22. well chuffed dont think ive got a chance in hell though its a nationwide competition, but ill be repping it for the tree boys! hehe ive almost finished the application, 8 pages and 900 words, uuurrgghhh. wish me luck!
  23. i like the V.T i tried the distel and it gets a bit muddled and you have to sort it out, vt is perfect catchs every time i tried mine a foot off the ground and loosed it off then dropped onto it and it caught perfect, i find you have to set the distel after longer periods of it being loose. i do use the distel on my lanyard though. i want a pantin too, ive got the HC where did you get your stuff from? how was the service.
  24. i find sharpening without a holder is fine, you definately get more control just watch the old fingers.
