  1. I used to run big 3/8 on mine, mainly for scrub clearance work, I found less derailments and generally more robust. I didn't notice any reduction in cutting performance just a little heaver.
  2. Is that per hour or cubic metre!!
  3. That's a good price, reckon I'm going for the Nugent mainly as it has leaf springs and looks stronger than the new gen ifor, will haggle it down to £3750 tho !! Did your £3750 include ramps, couldn't quite decide from your post? I think the 195 tyres is a sensible option as I may use mine for shifting a small tractor.
  4. Nugent looks good to me, quoted £3850 inc mesh kit by my local dealer, how does that compare?
  5. Don't know anything about it, just saw the sign. It could be one of those things, a complete flop or develop into a good show after a few years and in everyone's diary!!
  6. Near Penrith today and saw the sign!! Forestry Festival, at Hutton-in-the-Forest Estate, Penrith | Courses & Events | Cumbria Woodlands
  7. stay indoors!! Wearing type c might compromise hs policy, due to risk of heat fatigue. If forced to work on hot days, if possible start at 5am and finish at lunch before max daytime temp around 3pm.
  8. Looks like a T-Rex is coming to help, look at the shadow!
  9. I like that, nice simple and quick release
  10. 1% of something is better than 100% of nothing.
  11. Dry as a Nuns!!
  12. I have used super universal oil for 2500 hrs in the hydraulic system of a tracked chipper with no failure yet!!
  13. Don't forget Defenders can tow 4000kg with coupled brakes!!
  14. I think the new Ford ranger can also tow 3500kg.
  15. That's one hell of a wagon, wonder how many bays for 150,000 t in a oner!!
  16. Predator P28/P38 is the only way to go if you want a compact tracked fully hydraulic machine at 26 inches wide. The cutter wheel ram can be lifted upright for narrow 90 deg turns, just remove quick release pin, negotiate turn relocate pin and grind. Some of the older machines can be unreliable when used roughly, so owner operators recommended. The new x series are meant to have all the major niggles sorted tho.
  17. Check the 12v fuel pump is working correctly
  18. Taught me at MW in the 90's. Quite an pioneer in techniques and hardware adaptations, he designed the first decending device for tree work called the Kenyon prussick Iift and sold by Honey Bros!!
  19. Try lavender essential oil drops on your pillow
  20. Balance by snapping off opposite fins to broken ones, remove exit chute and reach in with long punch and hammer, I did this a few years ago for a temporary fix to finish a contract!! No you can't change without removing flywheel!
  21. good advice, I have done the same no problems so far
  22. Pheasants are bred for killing for fun! Stupidist bird on the planet!
  23. Lob root ball off then enter the gypsy stick
  24. That was the point I was trying to make, legs are heavy and produce a lot of leverage so certain gymnastic moves must become easier applying the simple rules of physics. Still and achievement and a show of strength, not denying that, especially the one arm chin-ups!!
