  1. And Season's Wishes to you too. The sky at sunset time was a little different to that one down here - and it was leaking too

  4. @Billhook that's some gathering of thrushes; very impressive
  5. Brilliant Pete; thanks very much I'm lucky enough to see and hear curlews every time I visit the top of Scotland, an annual event Jon
  6. A bit of a bugger if you find yourself on one of those planes having paid a lifetime's savings to get here from Burundi!
  7. Good to see you here again Pete; your pics are exceptional. Keep 'em coming!
  8. At least you're working again Steve; good news
  9. Not sure about that Andrew: on the Hadrian's Wall path there are signs asking you not to keep to the same path but to spread the load in order to avoid erosion
  10. You still doing those double back somersaults Mike?! 🤣 Jon
  11. When the snow started the birds seemed to go into panic feeding mode Kill the sound; TV was on and the logburner was crackling (Macrocarpa!) VID-20221211-WA0008.mp4
  12. Not working I'm afraid
  13. I wondered that but Camellia is alternate leaved. I hope!
  14. Uh-oh; I'm heading that way in half an hour from Maresfield; need to get to near Brasted
  15. Cotinus. The finest, fluffiest bits you can see are what give it it's common name of Smokebush
  16. I really feel for Kane; he must bee absolutely miserable. But I find this just too funny to ignore; many sensibilities will be wounded! VID-20221211-WA0005.mp4
  17. I spent five days in the Atlas last June so have massive experience of the country 🙄 but in that short time I was struck by how open, friendly and downright happy the Berbers were that we met. Very poor people completely happy with their lives. I was almost jealous
  18. From an Englishman through and through - thank you reasonable Scots! My best mate is Welsh and lives in Caithness. It doesn't matter what the sport is - and he follows a lot - once Welsh or Scottish interests have faded he's 100% for England. I'd like to think I'm the same in reverse, mainly when it comes to the Six Nations! Why wouldn't you support your neighbours? Of course they've always taken the piss out of each other - that's life - but there's no need to get angry and smug over it
  19. Brace yourself then and that's from a fellow goona! I can't see them maintaining the momentum though dearly wish they can
  20. Christ, call those gardens?! Great examples of 'the customer's always right'. You're right - they look shit! 😂
  21. I'd claim long-serving bonus! Been here since 2008 I think. I've met probably 30 members and 'know' 10 or so at approximate guesses. I've earned jobs through the site, I've done work for others thanks to it, I've gained many tons of free firewood through it, I've been able to point others in the right direction because of it. I'm hugely grateful and feel morally guilty that it's all free. If Steve Bullman was valued by means of the financial benefits to the site's members he'd be the next Mark Zuckerberg. Life's tough Steve 😧
  22. Couldn't find the pickup keys at the end of the day. Greedy boards stacked high and I'd hidden the spare key at home so safely I couldn't find that either! Next day had laden pickup recovered to mercifully nearby main dealer for them to provide new code and cut two new keys. Luckily I had keys insurance so ended up only £36 out of pocket (the cost of the second key). Days later I found the spare at home - inevitably. Three months later I lent my chainsaw gloves to my mate for his CS31 refresher and he found a lump in one of them... exactly where I'd hidden the original key while we worked behind the house. So I had four keys for the truck, two of which worked (the new ones) and two which didn't because the truck's code had been changed.
  23. Well the book's just gone on my Christmas list!
